Monument Valley - We took the 3.5 cultural tour. The tour guide was terrific. The views were beautiful and the cultural history was fascinating. It was nice to get off the main path that most tourists take. Also saw some nice pictographs. Tour guide John was great.

Smart and delightful cultural interpreter! - Yvonne (Von) was our delightful tour guide for our morning in Monument Valley. She covered the history of the land, Native customs and present day life, and she was more than willing to answer our many questions. The 3 1/2 hours flew by. We would highly recommend Yvonne for your tour of Monument Valley!

Inspiring and life changing tour - This was the undisputed highlight of an unforgettable cross-country family trip. Of course Monument Valley is impressive, but what really made a difference was the staff at DN and our guide Lee who were excellent. Informative, interesting, amazing tour. We went as a group of 5 including a couple, a 6yo kid and two elderly grandparents. Everyone had an amazing time.

Great chance to learn about Native culture. - Our guide, Yvonne Seaton, was exceptional. She was open and frank in educating us about Navajo history and culture. She patiently gave us all the time we wanted for our questions. She tailored the pace of the tour to our desires to see and learn. Her flute song at one stop was absolutely captivating. We would enthusiastically recommend this tour to anyone, and assume any guide would be good. But if they happened to have Yvonne as their guide, we know their experience would be excellent. She was also great with a phone camera.

Equipment problems - misinformation - Speaker was broken in vehicle and driver had to pull over (infrequently) to explain what we were seeing - mostly we had to get information by asking questions. When I asked how the buttes were formed his answer was “this was once a sea and the were caused by underwater volcanoes “. This was so blatantly false that I suspected the majority of answers to the questions he gave was also a case of making up a story for the tourist. As you can drive your own car or rent a jeep, the tour should be a skip on your itinerary.
