The excursion proceeds north along US 191, bypassing the entrance to Arches National Park - initially recognized as a National Monument, it earned its National Park status in 1971. Thanks to our special use permit, we can access Arches through the less-traveled Willow Springs Road. This back route will take you through the newly established ‘Utah Raptor State Park’, a place significant in ancient history as a home for Native Americans over the millennia. Attractions include dinosaur tracks and the panoramic views of the La Sal Mountains. The National Park is positioned over a subterranean salt layer, which has resulted in the creation of its signature arches, spires, and layered sandstone. Our stops will include several key locations such as Eye of the Whale (off-road), Balanced Rock (on-road), Sand Dune Arch (on-road), Delicate Arch Viewpoint (on-road), and The Windows Section (on-road). Anticipate the whole journey to last roughly 4 hours. Each participant will travel in an air-conditioned, enclosed Jeep Rubicon.
