This diversity helps archaeologists determine that the Fremont people inhabited the area after the Barrier Canyon artists had left.

• Molly’s Castle - Notice the striking rock formation to our left? That’s Molly’s Castle! This outcrop rises over 5,000 feet above sea level, with sandstone forming turrets, towers, and walls, giving it its castle-like appearance.

• Wild Horse Butte - The massive structure ahead and to our right is Wild Horse Butte, standing at 5,760 feet above sea level! Like the goblins and Molly’s Castle, this formation was sculpted by wind and water over millions of years.

• The Three Sisters - Look ahead and slightly to our left. Do you see the red rock formation with three uniquely-shaped columns at the top? These are the iconic Three Sisters! If you’ve seen a photo of Goblin Valley State Park, you’ve likely seen this trio. These three hoodoos stand elegantly atop their rocky base, earning the nicknames Sister Superior, Sister Act, and Sister Mary for their dignified presence.
