Highlights
  • Grandstaff Canyon - A short hike across petrified sand dunes will get us to the first of our two rappels (90 feet/27 meters), a stunning drop into a classic, water-carved, sandstone chamber and the very heart of the Colorado Plateau. From here, we exit this amazing room through a small slot, with a short section of scrambling and a short walk to our second spectacular free-hanging rappel (120 feet/36 meters). This rappel affords us an up-close and personal look at the 243-foot-long Morning Glory Arch, which is only feet away from our rappel station.
A downhill hike out to the Colorado River along a cool, spring-fed stream gives our canyoneering guides an opportunity to discuss wildlife, plants, geology, local history and more.

Canyoneering for the first time - This was our group's first time canyoneering and Cage and Kensley made the experience so much fun! They talked us through each step and made it accessible. We felt safe the whole time. If you have ever considered canyoneering, I encourage you to try it. Red River adventures did not disappoint! Thank you for the wonderful and exhilarating experience.

Challenging, fun, and informative - The bow and arrow canyonering trip is challenging and so satisfying. It was an absolutely amazing and unforgettable time. The best part though was our guide Kenzie!! Not only did she coach us, motivate us, and celebrate with us but she gave us the best recommendations for the rest of our trip. Every one of the recommendations she gave that we tried was fire!

Canyoneering Bow and Arrow - Great Canyoneering trip with Kenzie. It was amazing with a heart stopping 130’ free rappel. The Bow and Arrow Canyon is beautiful itself with amazing petroglyphs and landscape. Kenzie expertly explained all the technical and safety aspects of our adventure. Novices can do this and be so glad you did. It will be the highlight of your trip to Moab!

Awesome Canyoneering Experience - Amazing setting for hiking and rappelling, with views across canyons. Kenzie was a wonderful, energetic guide armed with fun facts about the local history and biology. Highly recommend the canyoneering with family or friends.

Look out below! - Rappelling is a blast! I would do it more often if I were confident I wouldn't plummet to my death rappelling without a guide. The hike to the rappel points was exciting, and I felt completely safe going down the cliffside. The hike afterwards was a little long in the hot, Moab heat, but it was still worth the money. Make sure to fill up your water at the spring after the second rappel point--it's one of the only two natural springs in the area that you can fill your water at. Talking to my guide was fun--he knew a bunch about the area and hearing his story was fascinating.

Canyoneering - It was an excellent experience, at the beginning I was a little nervous since it was my first time doing rappelling but Adam, our guide, he really make us feel confident, he was fun and also very knowledgeable of the area, he even recommended us what to do around and where to eat. I would do it again. If you are in Moab and are looking to do something different and adventurous, I truly recommend doing this.

Cherry on Top to a Beautiful Trip in Moab - I rarely write reviews but find that this group really deserves it! I went on the Bow and Arrow Canyoneering Trip with two families of 4, my husband, myself, and our guides - Adam and Dan. The whole experience was top notch and truly felt like the cherry on top for our last day in Moab. The 3 mile hike up to the Canyoneering portion itself was beautiful and private. The canyoneering portion consisted of 4 rappels, which was so worth it as other trips had less (but longer) rappels. Most importantly, Adam and Dan were AMAZING. They had us laughing, taught us about the area, helped members along the hike, and made everyone feel safe and comfortable during the rappels. They were very encouraging and kind to those who felt apprehensive, which allowed everyone to fully enjoy this memorable experience. Thanks again! :)

Amazing! Great guide! - We had an absolute fabulous time. Our tour guide, Adam, was amazing! He taught us how to maneuver the canyons, and he was a great guide/encourager on repelling. The hike was just right in length, and the repelling gave us some great breaks. We highly recommend this! We took our college-aged kids with us, and they thought it was a great family experience.

Two days canyoneering and I want to do more - Carl was so easy to work with and flexible in planning our trips. Our first day with Kenzie was awesome! She has such a fun but calm demeanor, she was able to assuage everyone's fears, and was thorough in her directions. I would definitely recommend the Bow and Arrow - more bang for the buck. Our second day with Brian and Ty at Morning Glory was equally thrilling. They made sure everyone was having a great time, laughing, and getting to know everyone individually. I felt confident and secure with the collective knowledge and experience of the guides. Would definitely go again!!
