Highlights
  • Grandstaff Canyon - A short hike across petrified sand dunes will get us to the first of our two rappels (90 feet/27 meters), a stunning drop into a classic, water-carved, sandstone chamber and the very heart of the Colorado Plateau. From here, we exit this amazing room through a small slot, with a short section of scrambling and a short walk to our second spectacular free-hanging rappel (120 feet/36 meters). This rappel affords us an up-close and personal look at the 243-foot-long Morning Glory Arch, which is only feet away from our rappel station.
A downhill hike out to the Colorado River along a cool, spring-fed stream gives our canyoneering guides an opportunity to discuss wildlife, plants, geology, local history and more.

Great adventure! - A friend recommended the Bow and Arrow hike and canyoneering experience. I have to admit I was nervous but booked our family (2 19 year old DD) none of us had done anything like this. The hike was moderate difficulty but great scenery and lots of knowledge by Cage. Adam definitely added some comic relief. They led us thru 4 rappels. Both guides were attentive and supportive of the group. We highly recommend!

Great excursion - Great day with some hiking in a beautiful area, en route to the rappelling experiences. It was very hot, and the hiking did involve some tricky sections. Could be challenging going for some younger kids. The guide, Cage, was excellent and was able to provide extra help to a younger participant who was anxious. We felt safe.

Hiking and rappelling at Bow and Arch Canyon - So freaking FUN!! First time canyoneering for everyone in our group ages 9 to 50s and we all had a blast. The awesome guide team of Adam and Cage was fantastic. They kept us all laughing but feeling secure. The hike up was moderate and provided great views of the La Sal mountains, dino tracks, Long Bow Arch and petroglyphs. We completed a total of 4 rappels. The first was a great intro on how to lean and shift weight. They only got more exciting after that. Great core memories for our whole family. We would do this again for sure. Highly recommend!

Super Fun - Cage, our guide, was amazing, knowledgeable, and trained for everything, including EMT. Not that we needed that part of his training, but it’s comforting to know this is a requirement of this company. The experience was super fun and the hike back out was gorgeous. Highly recommend

Canyoneering for the first time - This was our group's first time canyoneering and Cage and Kensley made the experience so much fun! They talked us through each step and made it accessible. We felt safe the whole time. If you have ever considered canyoneering, I encourage you to try it. Red River adventures did not disappoint! Thank you for the wonderful and exhilarating experience.

Challenging, fun, and informative - The bow and arrow canyonering trip is challenging and so satisfying. It was an absolutely amazing and unforgettable time. The best part though was our guide Kenzie!! Not only did she coach us, motivate us, and celebrate with us but she gave us the best recommendations for the rest of our trip. Every one of the recommendations she gave that we tried was fire!

Canyoneering Bow and Arrow - Great Canyoneering trip with Kenzie. It was amazing with a heart stopping 130’ free rappel. The Bow and Arrow Canyon is beautiful itself with amazing petroglyphs and landscape. Kenzie expertly explained all the technical and safety aspects of our adventure. Novices can do this and be so glad you did. It will be the highlight of your trip to Moab!
