It was a magical... - It was a magical tour.....Our local guide was great; The valley was great and seeing areas not allowed to just those that drive the trail was great.......Overall, one of the best tours ever taken via Viator.

A fantastic tour! - This was a very enjoyable tour! The scenery is unforgettable and our guide Wayne made it better with his knowledge & stories of the area. He sang a beautiful song and played the drum. Then to have a sunset dinner while listening to more stories and also listening to songs with Jamie dancing was wonderful. And then to see all the stars come out was amazing!

The views are worth the trip, the tour guide and experience are a bonus! - I enjoyed my experience and was overall impressed with what was offered. Our tour guide was Cody and he was fun and knowledgeable. He shared a lot of great anecdotes and I felt safe driving on the offroad when he was driving the truck. Along the way, we observed many vehicles being stopped or having trouble doing the offroading/scenic route. I suggest you only drive the offroad route in Monument Valley if you have a reliable vehicle and know which gears to change to. Cody took us to various view points and gave us time to get out and take photos. Overall, an amazing experience and my husband and I were all smiles the whole tour. Here are some tips: - Depending on the time of the year you go, please bring a eye protection, an N95 mask or a rag to cover your face from the dust/dirt from wind. - Bring water! At least two water bottles, as it is a four hour tour. - Bring water/soap to wash your hands or hand sanitizer/wipes. This is what you need before you eat at night. Also when you break for restrooms, you'll want to wash your hands after using as there is no running water. - I highly suggest bringing cash (small bills for tipping or just to buy a picture with a horse at John Wayne's point). Other than that, make sure your phone is charged for some amazing photos! The entertainment at night was fun. Cody got dressed and danced for us as others sang. The Navajo Tacos were delicious! The meat tastes like it's fresh, so it's on the tougher than normal side but is very deliciously seasoned! Bring some good utensils if you want to cut through the meat with ease. We went in October, so it was cold at night. I suggest bringing an extra jacket just in case. The weather is extremely unpredictable so be prepared. We were there and it was sunny during our tour but the next day it rained a lot. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and my husband and I were so grateful to learn about the culture of the Navajo. Thank you Simpson's Trailhandler Tours for the opportunity!

Magical evening in Monument Valley - Yesterday we had a truly great experience in Monument Valley with Jamie of Simpson’s Trail Handlers. Jamie’s professionalism is countered with his wack sense of humor and he had us in stitches. We signed on for the dreamcatchers tour that departed at 4:30. The late afternoon sun was the best for photography as the colors are vivid and the shadows add dimension to the fantastic rock formations. Jamie took us to the best spots for viewing and always offered to take photos of us from our smartphones. He used the pano feature to create fanciful photos of us against the stunning backgrounds. He’s also a talented musician and played the flute to advantage against the echoing canyons. That was epic! Our last stop was a traditional Navajo meal lit by a camp fire. We were treated to native dances accompanied by Jamie’s magical flute playing. It was an unforgettable evening!

Great Tour! - Our tour guide “Jamie” kind of got stuck with us as his only two guests on the tour. We were told to meet at the Welcome Center (which we did), but all of the other ticket holders met at the Visitor’s Center about 5 miles in from the Welcome Center. This ended up being a big plus for us, as he gave us a very good personal tour including taking pictures of us at key points. Would highly recommend this tour. Will see much more than if you go on your own.

Incredible Tour - This was an amazing tour. We drove in Monument Valley the day before on our oun and was concerned we would just see the same thing. Cody was our driver, tour guide, entertainer, and camera expert. He took us on roads that are private, only for the tours. It was incredible to see the different structures and arches. Cody knew the names of everything and the history of the Navajo Nation. It was a great experience. We also had the Navajo Taco dinner by the bonfire with dancing and story telling. We truly enjoyed every minute of this tour and would do it again.

A Moving Experience for Me - This was well worth the money for the tour! Our Navajo guide, Cody, had a dry sense of humor, but he was knowledgeable about the various mesas. The ride is quite bumpy due to the roads being VERY SANDY (like beach sand only red from the mesas), rocky and unpaved. The roads we took were "Restricted Access" only available to the Navajo Guides. There was a 7 year old boy with us who enjoyed it because I told him it was like riding a "bucking bronco without a saddle"! The Wild West! Cody took us to a cove and showed us the Eagle's Head; then took a hand drum and chanted for us under the Eagle's Head. It was very moving & spiritual for me - I got very emotional. This chant connected me to the sights I was seeing & the feelings were more meaningful. Harold Simpson was one of the founders of Simpson's Trailhandler Tours and he gave a good history about the Navajo culture. He had 4 chants for us: Welcome Blessing, Birthday, Happy Anniversary, Protection while Cody donned Native garb and danced their Native dances around the campfire. The steak was a little tough, but tasty; the fry bread, veggies & beans were delicious. Sodas & water were provided at dinner. Yes, I would take this tour again! This time in a bigger group, like my whole family! J. Vito Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail....~RWE

A dream fulfilled - Great experience with our guide Cody. We really enjoyed the story telling and all the little extras thst only a native to the area would know. My only suggestion would be better instructions on where to meet for pickup. All of us on the tour had trouble finding the correct place.

Dreamcatcher Sunset Experience - Our guide, Dana, was from the MV area and very knowledgable about the area and the Navajo culture and traditions. We definitely went to areas in the backcountry that we would never have seen otherwise. We did the evening Dreamcatcher experience which was unique but we had already done a sunrise tour that morning so saw a lot of the same areas - but saw some new areas too. The dinner and entertainment was a bit disappointing - had steaks (thin and so tough you could not eat them) and Navajo tacos - which were fine, just not worth the cost. The entertainment was fun just sitting around the fire. The weather was perfect to be outside and the stars are so amazing when you are out in the valley at night.
