The predominant color of the rocks here is white or light grey, offering a stark contrast to the red hues of the Coyote Buttes. However, the overall landscape features are akin - with undulating, thinly layered sedimentary rocks, strata of contrasting hues adjacent to one another, and intriguing shapes carved by erosion. Additional colorful pockets dot the southern and eastern expanses of the plateau, some with designated names while others remain unnamed.
