Prepare for an exhilarating adventure! Embark on a 6km trek starting from Sovana, the most significant Etruscan city in the region, to discover a series of late Etruscan tombs that remain hidden and largely unknown. These tombs were so numerous that they formed a true city, known as a Necropolis. Although located in less frequented areas, the beauty and allure of these tombs and their Vie Cave are unparalleled.
Experience the awe of a Via Cava, a canyon sculpted by human hands. Feel the energy as you explore it, and imagine the immense effort the Etruscan people invested in creating these man-made canyons.
Upon returning, there is an opportunity to enjoy a wine tasting at a local winery.
NOTE: There is a small creek crossing; it’s not challenging, but waterproof shoes are highly recommended.
ATTENTION: The experience price does not include the wine tasting, which can be paid for on-site to the owner.

This is a unique, once in a lifetime experience! - My mom and I had the best time exploring with Lorenzo! He was so incredibly accommodating and thoughtful and a true expert in the history of Italy (and a lot more!). We loved the conversation and everything about the entire experience - truly. And if you do a tour where you have the option to visit his friends’ winery - go! It’s amazing! Cannot recommend this highly enough!

Very informative and well-guided hike on the paths of the Etruscans - The hike with Lorenzo was an impressive experience. Lorenzo is an excellent guide , with a lot of knowledge about the surrounding area and its history. We learned a lot about the Etruscans and went down exciting paths. Highly recommended!!

Hidden Tombs, Ancient Paths, and Wine—Unforgettable! - What an amazing experience!! We did the 7km Sovana hike with Lorenzo, and it was absolutely unforgettable. He led us through hidden Etruscan tombs and shared fascinating stories about the Necropolis, bringing the history to life in such a vivid way. Walking the magnificent Via Cava with his guidance felt like stepping back in time. To finish, we enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting that was the perfect ending to the day. Lorenzo is knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about what he does. He knows everyone in the area and was even able to help us reserve a great table at a wonderful restaurant with the best view of Pitigliano! The time with him was the highlight of our trip to Tuscany—I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!

Trekking in Sovana and visit to the Etruscan necropolis - Among the woods around Sovana, the guide led us with competence and passion between Etruscan necropolis and suggestive hollow ways carved into the rock. Each explanation was clear and engaging, enriching the experience with historical and naturalistic curiosities. The route, immersed in a timeless atmosphere, ended with a stop at a young local winery: excellent wine, warm Welcoming and enchanting panorama. An authentic experience, rich in history, nature and flavors. Highly recommended.

Amazing experiences - Lorenzo is a magnificent guide - he manages to create ad hoc routes according to the type of experience you want to do, combining preparation and a great sense of empathy. the routes chosen by Lorenzo are extremely suggestive, then enriched by his explanations and precious anecdotes about the place, become unforgettable. The trekking often ends with tastings in the local artisan cellars, where you can personally meet the producers with whom you have the opportunity to share the production philosophy.

Adventure suitable and recommended to everyone!!! - We returned to walk the Vie Cave, an experience that was confirmed pleasantly interesting thanks to the support of our guide Lorenzo who was able to stimulate our curiosity and our interest. Thanks to his courtesy and preparation we appreciated many historical, landscape and naturalistic aspects. The empathy and friendliness were then reflected in a moment of conviviality 'and sharing authentic local food and wine delicacies absolutely worth trying.

Amazing experience with Lorenzo - Lorenzo was AMAZING! Knowledgeable, friendly, super nice, funny, engaging and very very passionate (just consider that 3 minutes into the experience a couple asked to join us!). The sites were wonderful: we started in Sovana, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy (certified, not only my personal opinion!) From there we went down the cliff, crossed a stream (so cool!!) In a beautiful landscape, surrounded by luxurious nature until, almost unexpectedly, we bumped into an incredible series of etruscan tombs...just incredible! We then proceeded to one of the famous vie cave: paths dug by the etruscans deep into the tuff cliffs and the experience of following the footsteps of etruscans, villagers from the middle ages, Renaissance, all the way down to nowadays is just wonderful and inexplicable in words. This is a MUST DO, MUST SEE, MUST EVERYTHING! Lorenzo also offers a nice food and wine tasting at the end of the trek. I will surely join another one of his experiences, I had such a wonderful time!!!

Tips: wear comfortable clothes and shoes, it is a trek so there will be walking involved. 😀

Beautiful tour through Etruscan tombs and wine cellars - Lorenzo accompanied us to discover the non-"tourist" part of the quarry roads and Etruscan tombs. Very easygoing and very prepared on the subject. The icing on the final cake, we stopped to have a tasting of excellent wines in an artisan cellar.
