• Mandela House - Nelson Mandela’s house in Soweto is open to the public and is located on one of the most visited streets in Soweto, Vilakazi Street. It is the only street in the world with the homes of two Nobel Peace Prize winners, Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. Visitors will also have the opportunity to walk and talk with the locals.
• Hector Pieterson Museum and Memorial - The Hector Pieterson Museum tells the story of the June 16, 1976, Soweto student protests against the use of Afrikaans as the medium of instruction in South African schools.
• FNB Stadium - FNB Stadium, the national stadium of South Africa, has a seating capacity of 94,000, making it the largest stadium in Africa. It hosted the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, famously remembered with the song “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).”
• Soweto - We will also have the opportunity to walk and talk with the locals in the informal settlement, visit a daycare, and spend time with the children. You are welcome to bring small gifts for children aged 1 to 5 years old.
