Hector Pieterson Museum and Memorial - The Hector Pieterson Memorial and Museum, located in Orlando West, Soweto, honors the contributions of the nation’s students in the fight against apartheid, especially the school children involved in the 1976 Soweto protests. Many of these children were shot by apartheid police while protesting the poor quality of education in black schools in South Africa.
