Highlights
- Province of Guipuzcoa - 2 hours travel time from San Sebastian to La Rioja. After picking you up in your hotel or residence, we will drive through the beautiful valleys of the green Basque Country.
- Bodegas Marques de Riscal - FULL WINERY TOUR AT MARQUES DE RISCAL:Our first stop will be the world famous Marques de Riscal winery, second best winery in the world! You will get a full winery tour and taste 3 of their best wines together with some local snacks.
If not available we will take you to a comparable winery.
- Bodegas Ysios - WINE TASTING AT YSIOS WINERY: Our second stop will be at the amazing Ysios winery. Since their opening in the year 2000 it has become the most iconic building in the whole region.
Here we will visit the building and you will have the opportunity to taste 2 of their premium wines together with cheese, serrano ham and cold meats.
We will tell you all about the building and the architect that created it: Santiago Calatrava
- Laguardia - PHOTO STOP OF LAGUARDIA: Next we will visit the medieval town of Laguardia; a Xth century walled town, and one of the most beautiful towns in the Basque Country
- Laguardia - LUNCH INCLUDED (except on Mondays): either at the town or Laguardia or some other town nearby, you will enjoy the fabulous three course meal with wine and dessert!

In this amazing tour, we will take a full winery tour at Marques de Riscal (second best winery in the world), and we will visit Ysios to taste their premium wines. All of that together with local cheese, serrano ham, and cold meats. After, you’ll enjoy a delicious three course Rioja lunch! (The price of lunch is not included on Mondays).

Great honeymoon activity - We went on the wine tour during our honeymoon in Spain. The tour was made so easy by picking us up directly from our hotel. Our guide, Anton, was so knowledgeable about the region. We got much more than just wine tasting out of the tour. We’d highly recommend!

Excellent Trip - really worth doing! - We had a wonderful day with Anton on this trip. The scenery was beautiful and the visits to the wineries were excellent. Anton is an excellent guide and we did two trips with him. The other was a drive from Bilbao to San Sebastián with stops on the way at Gernika and Getaria - amongst others. His knowledge of the area and history is excellent and he is good company as well.

Excursion into Rioja & Basque Country - Anton and his apprentice Lisa were absolutely wonderful. We visited two beautiful wineries, the historic town of Laguardia, and got a nice traditional basque lunch.
They were able to explain not only much about the history and practices of the wineries we visited, but also a lot of basque region history and insight. Overall the experience was a wonderful opportunity to see the greater basque region and learn about rioja wine production, as well as getting to taste it!
Would absolutely recommend.

10/10 tour! - Absolutley wonderful trip with our amazing tour guide Anton. The day was very well planned and it felt like being out with an old friend. We went to two vineyards which were both beautiful and we learned a lot about the Rioja region.
It was alot of driving from San Sebastián to the vineyards but Anton kept it really entertaining telling us about his life and also the surrounding areas.
Certainly worth the money and the time, I couldn’t recommend the tour more

Beautiful wineries, great wines, friendly guide. - I am probably the first Japanese to write a review of this tour. First of all, I want to say that the tour was excellent, and Anton was a very pleasant person. If you want to visit Rioja for a day from San Sebastian and experience a fantastic wine region, you should definitely join this tour. On the day we participated, there were four of us: my wife and myself, along with a very friendly American couple.
Initially, we were searching for a Rioja winery tour with a Japanese-speaking guide departing from San Sebastian. However, we were hesitant due to the high cost of chartering a cab alone, which was about 450 euros. On top of that, the guide's fee would have been an additional 200 to 300 euros, making it quite expensive. In this regard, this tour was very reasonably priced, costing between 200-250 euros per person, and it included not only transportation but also tastings at the wineries.
We visited three unique wineries: Gómez Cruzado, Bodegas Ysios, and Marques de Riscal. At Marques de Riscal, we also participated in a winery tour with a detailed explanation. Of course, we had the opportunity to taste several delicious wines at each winery.
Our guide and driver, Anton, was very friendly and informative. He provided detailed explanations not only about the history of winemaking in the Rioja region but also about the history of the Basque Country, from the Kingdom of Navarre to the present day.
If you are Japanese or a non-native speaker and can read this text, do not hesitate to join this tour.

Highly recommend! - We had such a great time doing a wine tour with North Coast Tours! Anton is so knowledgeable about the region and passionate about the history, culture, and people. The wineries we visited were beautiful and each unique in their own way. I learnt so much and had a great time, would highly recommend!

North Coast Tours- Grand Wine Tour - The tour was fantastic! Very informative and the wineries that we visited were beautiful. Anton was a fantastic guide. He picked us up from our hotel and provided lots of interesting information, I learned so much. I would definitely recommend taking a wine tour with them and I am hoping to do more tours in the future.

Outstanding day trip to Rioja, Anton is an amazing guide! - Outstanding tour, highly recommend! Anton’s easy going personality instantly made us feel comfortable and his ability to organize the logistics and his knowledge of the region made the tour an absolute highlight of our trip. The wineries we visited were all amazing, especially the small local one where we got to have a tasting with the owner. A special and unforgettable experience!

Awesome! :) - We took the grand wine tour and it was just amazing! The guide (Anton) was super friendly and the group was really fun. We learned so much during that day in very relaxed and joyful atmosphere. I highly recommend booking with this company :)
