The region of Rioja stands out distinctively within the nation, credited to its exceptional climate and terrain that’s been favorable for wine production since the era of the Romans. Presently, it’s dotted with vineyards and wineries on every turn, shaping up a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that simply can’t be overlooked.
In this excursion, there’s an opportunity to tour around two distinct wineries, varying in terms of size from small to medium, to illustrate the differences in production methods. We’ll further extend the exploration to the time-frozen medieval town of Laguardia, to soak in an arresting panoramic view of the whole region.

Day in La Rioja - Our guide, Elba, was outstanding—she was local and gave a lot of information about the region and life there which added to the experience.
The wines were very good—it was fascinating to see so many small independent wineries, many seemingly operating out of their houses.
Given the wine, food and information, this was well worth the money—highly recommended.

Day trip - Bilboa to Rioja - do it! - Day trip Bilbao to Rioja - 2 wineries with tour & tastings. Beautiful scenery, great wine followed by lunch in magnificent LaGuardia. Miguel was a fantastic tour guide - we had a great day.

Beautiful trip with a very nice winery (Tritium) and the best tourguide you could wish for! - WInery Tritium was really a very nice experience. Our visit to the ancient town of Laguardia was very beautiful. We where lucky to have the best guide possible, Adur made our trip unforgettable!

Incredible guide + amazing wine tour! - I had the most incredible time on this wine tour! My guide, Adur, was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and taught me tons about the region and area and also extremely accommodating, funny, and kind. I loved learning about the Rioja region and the wineries we went to, along with the views we saw and the pintxos we had, were fantastic!

Awesome day in La Rioja - We had a fantastic day in La Rioja. Our guide, Alby, had a well planned out tour for us, incl. lunch. The two vineyards were unique and the wines excellent.

Beautiful area and good wine. - We are 2 couples from California, USA. We have toured a lot of wineries. We had a very nice time on this tour. The cave winery was different from anything we have done before and the wine was tasty. We found out that the tour did not include the Frank Geary designed winery but we were able to stop by the store. I was disappointed but it didn’t say it would be included.
The scenery was absolutely stunning on the drive and during the winery tour.
Our tour director, Victoria was delightful, funny and engaging and did not rush us.
I would say the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was that Victoria was a very erratic driver and we were all very uncomfortable during the drive. It was nice to be picked up at our hotel.
