- Put Polja 40 - We will visit Klis Fortress, a stronghold of Croatian Christian identity and the frontier between two great medieval empires, the Venetian and Ottoman Turkish. This strategic location offers stunning views of Split, the islands of Brac and Hvar, the Adriatic Sea, and the surrounding mountains and valleys. We will be hosted by an ‘uskok,’ a medieval warrior who will explain the defensive strategies and medieval weapons used by both the Venetian and Ottoman Turkish sides. If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, our guide will share stories about Daenerys and the Meereen scenes filmed at the fortress. After visiting Klis Fortress, we will descend into the fields below Klis village to a beautiful olive garden. Surrounded by trees and nature, you will learn all about our cuisine, its ingredients, herbs, and spices while enjoying traditional delicacies such as delicious Croatian wines, meat, and seafood specialties flavored with olive oil made from the surrounding olive trees. Best excursion I've been on in a while - The whole day was great. Lucy was the best guide. Super personable and knowledgeable. She took her time with us walking up the fort as it was very hot. We then went to eat at the olive grove and the two sisters were amazing hosts. We all laughed and ate and drank and ate lol we were stuffed by the end. So stuffed we cancelled dinner. The food was amazing, they didn't rush us at all which was lovely. It was like friends sitting around a table celebrating and enjoying good food and company.

Favorite Day in Split - My husband and I attended this excursion (better described as an experience) on our 10th wedding anniversary. It is simply not enough to say that we enjoyed our time from beginning to end. Our hosts were incredibly gracious, kind, knowledgable, talented, etc. (list of adjectives can go on and on!) Lucia was able provide information about the fortress, history, local way of life and agriculture. Our taste buds were dancing during our meal that consisted of several courses, wine and local liquors. Everything was fresh and delicious and made from the heart! We most of all enjoyed the company and the conversation. If you do anything while in Split, it should be this.

Klis olive tree garden food tour - Oh my gosh, after a busy morning visiting the green market with lots of food tastings with Luci she took us to Old Town, Dubrovnik(Game of Thrones ) . We were driven up a mountainside that took us to a beautiful outdoor dining area surrounded by olive trees and gentle breezes! Silvana cooked authentic pasta, veal, sausages with plenty of wine while on occasion a song sung by our hostess Silvana! Lucí was wonderful with her knowledge of Old Town and the rich history of the area of Croatia. Certainly was a highlight of the week.

Awesome experience and amazing food! - We had an amazing time with Lucy on this tour! She went above and beyond to make our day the best day ever! The tour of Klis Fortress was beautiful and we learned a lot about the history and culture of the area. The second part of the tour was at a quaint house in an Olive tree garden. The scenery was breathtaking and our hosts were so charming! All of the food was delicious and I love that this opportunity exposed us to traditional Croatian foods! We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone!

Great experience - We started the day with our guides, first with a private ride and tour of the Klis Fortress. Afterwards, we went to the private olive garden and rustic home for an excellent lunch. Our guests and tour guides were extremely hospitable, and it honestly felt like we were spending the day with close friends. It was a memorable day!

Amazing experience of a traditional meal - We just came home after the most lovely evening learning how to cook traditional Croatian foods, including peka.
Our guide, Lucia, was very personable. Our hosts went above and beyond to make a memorable experience for us.
My son had wanted a chance to learn hands-on how to cook Croatian food, and was particularly interested in learned to cook using a peka. Our hosts were very accommodating. They recommended a start time of 5 pm to miss the worst of the day’s heat. They also planned dishes to work around my son’s allergy to shrimp. He had really wanted to participate in the cooking, so they made sure he got to cut vegetable, taste and season the food, move the tray out from the peka bell, etc.
After the cooking was done, we got to enjoy a lovely multi-course meal, complete with different wines. The food was all delicious. We ate an outdoor table and watched the stars come out.
It was magical, listening to the sound of the crickets, talking and laughing with our hosts and our guide. Our hosts even treated us to a beautiful a capella song!
At the end of our wonderful evening, we were sent home with a large bag of leftovers that we will be enjoying tomorrow!
Thank you so much for a lovely evening. It is not one we will soon forget!
