Magnificent waterfalls and making friends over wine and cheese - Klaudia, our guide, and Marko, our driver gave us a day to remember. Klaudia was full if humour, facts, practical information and her use of the whatsap group to keep tabs on the 40-50 group inspired. The waterfalls at Krka national park are breathtaking, the sound of water a constant. Beware the wooden walkway - no rails most of the way and I imagine it could be quite dangerous if wet. It is mostly kevel but there are some steep sections, and some steps, towards the end. However there is a flat shorter trail. There was plenty of time to get a snack and a drink, admire the main waterfall and look at the solitary souvenir stand. Toilets at trail start (free) and trail end (1€). We then took a 20/25 minute boat ride to the little town of Skradin. We only had time for a quick lunch and a perk at the harbour. The town might be livelier in season. End October, the only things open seemed to be food related. Part of the group then went on a 15 minute drive to a tiny village (pop. 60) for a wine tasting. There were 4 wines to taste, some cheese and bread to nibble (the begging cats enjoyed the (very mild) cheese more than the humans). Was nice to interact with fellow tourists though. We then returned to Skradin and picked up those who had passed another 90 minutes somehow, perhaps climbing up to the fortress or spending time on the nice looking town beach. The trip back to Split delayed by traffic and roadworks. We saw three young single travellers eating together later that evening having bonded over the wine.

Well worth a day trip! - Great trip, very scenic. Guide Sanja was very knowledgeable and friendly. Not long enough in Krka Park and probably too long in Skradin which was closing down for winter. All in all very good day trip and good value. Beautiful waterfall! Certainly recommend going in October when there are no crowds.

Bit boring. Overpriced. Boat tour was waste of time. Food and wine tour not exciting. - In summary: Bit boring. Overpriced. Boat tour was waste of time. Food and wine tour not exciting. The tour in Krka national park was good. We were given enough time to see the place. Although a bit overpriced for what you paid for. The boat took a bit too long to arrive. When it did, Skradin wasn’t what I expected. There was nothing to do and nothing to see. We just waited an hour waiting for Nicola to come back and pick us up for the wine tour. The wine tour was also boring. We thought we would at least see where the vineyards were and where they made the wine. We were just sat in 3 long tables of a house which apparently is the owner of the wine place, they made us sample very small amount of white, red and rose and dessert wine. And we had small portion to share with the group the cheese and few olive bread. We bought the small platter of prosciutto and cheese. The ham was nice. the cheese was bland. The wines were okay. Nothing spectacular. The dessert wine was good. Tasted like port wine. All in all we paid £141.58 for the Krka tour, boat tour and cheese and wine tour. For me it was a rip off. Nicola the tour guide was good. And Ado the bus driver was good too. If you want to see Krka national park, rent a car and do it on your own. Its easy to drive going to Krka from Split and car rentals are cheap.
