Great Overview - If you’re looking for a historical walking tour of Old Town Split, this is it. Our local guide Marta really brought the palace and its inhabitants to life sharing centuries of facts and stories as we walked. My husband is not much of a history buff, and even he really enjoyed it. Great overview!

Worthwhile tour- highly recommend - Our tour guide, slavko, was exceptionally good - funny; knowledgeable and patient. Able to explain complicated history in a concise and accessible way.

Outstanding tour and guide - Outstanding. Our guide Marija was so good we booked a private tour with her. She’s a history teacher and not only knew a ton about the history of Split, but also Croatia generally, architecture, and many more things. Truly a gem!

Wonderful tour guide! - I went on this tour with my two teen children, and we were all so pleased with Dana, our sweet local guide. We learned a lot about the charming city of Split. She even pointed out, where she went to high school, so it felt very personal and special. Learned a new word - vomitorium :-) in the Palace, and also some new knowledge about how they kept their streets clean back in the day. Just ask her :-) Thank you, Dana! Wish you all the best!

Great personal walking tour - Our tour guide, Dana, was wonderful. There were only two of us so it was like having a private tour. Dana grew up in this area so she had personal stories to tell about the palace as well as covering the history extensively. I would highly recommend this tour.

Nice guide & nice tour - One of the nicest guides I ever met. She was very informative and knowledgeable also. A wonderful 1.5 hours spent on the tour.

Book this tour! - Dana was such a good tour guide, would definitely recommend booking with this group. We learnt lots about split back in the day, as well as the architecture and local artists. We also learnt about modern day living in Croatia which was really nice :)

Inflexible to Thunder Storms - We never took the tour. There was lightening and thunder at 10:30 and they were not able to accommodate us after the remain left at noon. Too bad.

Wouldn’t recommend sadly - If you do this tour via Sugaman tours then cancel!! It’s not a walking tour of the old city as per the description and does not include Marjan forest. It is ONLY a tour of some parts the palace. When we asked why we weren’t doing the other parts as advertised on the tour itinerary booking neither the Sugaman tours employee nor the guide were helpful (each stating we need to ask the other!). Karla our guide was friendly but a little dry. The information was very repetitive and too much information was offered haphazardly, making it very confusing and as if it was being regurgitated. Really sad as we were really excited on our first day to find out about the history and culture. So we finished the tour at 730pm and walked up Marjan forest for sunset ourselves! The highlight!!
