Highlights
  • Chapel of St. John (Ioannis) - This magnificent chapel of St. John, also known as Agios Ioannis, is perched atop a massive rock formation that gently rests on the sea. It’s truly love at first sight when you first glimpse the “Rock,” as I like to call it. At the very top, as you pass through the arched entrance, you can feel a sense of pride, having climbed all the way up and taken the same steps and passed through the same arch that some of Hollywood’s top actors have. Whether you chose to watch the movie before coming here, plan to see it afterward, or simply don’t care much about the famous Mamma Mia movie, one thing is certain: you now understand why this place was chosen!
  • Paralia Kastani - Kastani is one of the most beautiful beaches in Skopelos, featuring lovely crystal-clear waters and white sand, located 15 km west of Skopelos Town. It boasts a remarkable environment surrounded by pine trees that reach the edge of the shore. Its stunning landscape gained worldwide fame through the American film “Mamma Mia,” with most of the scenes shot here. Kastani gets busy in summer, but not as crowded as Elios or Klima. A sloping dirt road, just 500 meters from the bus route, will lead you to the beach.
  • Agnontas - Agnontas is the third port of Skopelos where ships and ferries dock when the winds prevent them from reaching the island’s other ports. It is a picturesque coastal settlement built around a beautiful area of pine forests. The pristine beaches with emerald waters and the impressive surroundings enchant every visitor. Many boats and private yachts moor at the port during the summer season. It is located 8 km south of Skopelos Town.

The winner takes it all! - We booked this trip as both my wife and daughter are Mamma Mia mad! The tour picked us up 5 mins walk from our hotel, with a very welcoming air conditioned bus. We went to the top spots, including the chapel and the beach where some of the numbers were performed/filmed. I had some very happy females ! We also went to an olive oil factory, which was fascinating. The guide was very knowledgeable and the driver was highly skilled, especially with the narrow roads! Would highly recommended this trip

Fantastic - Oh my word what a fantastic trip. Everyone should do this when travelling to Skopelos. We were a party of 5 friends and enjoyed every second from the moment we got on the coach to when we got off. Jackie was our guide and was very informative and told us many stories of the island. Loved climbing to the church, visit to the Olive press, Kastani beach and an amazing lunch. Do not miss this.

Amazing tour, worth every moment. Thank you, Dolphin of Skopelos - Perfect!!! Our tour was with Dolphin of Skopelos. The driver Dimitri did very well, the guide lady excellent and informative. Both were helpful and patient. The tour bus picked my family from apartment. Loved the mama mia and Greek music, enjoyed stories and history of the island. Enjoyed the climb and me and kids ringing the bell at the top. Nice stop at the Olive 🫒 processing, and enough time at the beach stops. Lovely views and scenery on the tour bus. Day well spent. Thank you, Dolphin of Skopelos..

Fantastic trip! - It was a brilliant trip and we all really enjoyed it. Our guide was lovely and really informative. The driver did the most incredible job!!!! It's only a personal preference from my point of view, but we'd have loved more time both at the chapel and on beautiful Kastani beach.

Unimpressed! - Very disappointing, very little information, first beach nice with facilities but only there an hour. You have to buy tickets at 15 euro each to go to church and they then set the groups to different time slots after you have bought the tickets. Our slot was 1.30 which meant you couldn’t enjoy a nice lunch because you were waiting to do a massive climb. Bus takes a good half hour to get to the beginning of the climb and you then have about an hour to get up and back down. If you have any health issues then don’t do it. It’s gruelling and when you get to the top the chapel isn’t anything like in the film, only exteriors are real and it’s nothing special. Soon as you get there you have to start back down, be warned, there are no places to stop and rest and when you get to the bottom no time to get water or cool down before back on the bus. The last beach was absolutely pathetic, no resemblance to anything in film, narrow strip of shingle and nothing else. Whole trip was pretty boring, bit of sea air and for us it was a freebie but the mama Mia element is purely a sales pitch, even the music on the boat was about 5 abba songs over and over again which you couldn’t hear over the engines. Queue for drinks was painful, one girl trying to do cocktails for a boat full of people. Gave up in the end. Would not recommend. One tip if you still want to go, get to the front of the queue to buy tickets for church when you’re on boat and check that you will be on the 11.30 bus. If you can do that you will at least get chance to sit and recover and have a nice lunch afterwards.
