AIRPORT - NEGOMBO

Negombo Beach - Often referred to as the “Little Rome” of Sri Lanka, Negombo is a charming coastal town near Bandaranaike International Airport. Known for its historic churches, fresh seafood, and pristine beaches, it’s an ideal spot for a beach holiday either at the start or end of your Sri Lankan adventure. With activities like kite surfing and a lively nightlife, there’s always something to do in Negombo.

NEGOMBO - SIGIRIYA

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Sigiriya, also known as Sinhagiri, is an ancient rock fortress in the northern Matale District near Dambulla in Sri Lanka’s Central Province. This site of historical and archaeological importance is dominated by a massive rock column nearly 200 meters high.

Village Tour Sri Lanka & Village Safari - Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by the village tour team and treated to a refreshing detox juice. The tour begins with an exciting Tuk Tuk ride, offering a fun and interesting way to meet the local community. After a 15-minute ride, you’ll reach the red lotus lake, where you’ll switch to a traditional Sri Lankan catamaran. Life jackets are provided for safety, and the professional team ensures your well-being. Enjoy local snacks and a herbal drink by the lake. The tour continues through paddy fields, local communities, and areas rich with fresh fruits, vegetables, birds, and wildlife. You’ll walk through the village of Nilagama with a naturalist, ending the tour at a traditional mud house. Refresh with cold towels and enjoy a Sri Lankan buffet featuring a variety of fresh, organic local foods. This tour offers a perfect opportunity to experience authentic local life, culture, and hospitality.

SIGIRIYA

Minneriya National Park - Located in Sri Lanka’s North Central Province, Minneriya National Park was designated a national park on August 12, 1997, after being declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. The park was established to protect the catchment of the Minneriya tank and the surrounding wildlife. The tank, built by King Mahasen in the third century AD, is of historical significance.

Pidurangala Rock - Situated a few kilometers north of Sigiriya, Pidurangala Rock has a history intertwined with Sigiriya. In the 5th century, King Kasyapa relocated monks from Sigiriya to a new monastery on Pidurangala Rock. The ancient cave temple here houses artifacts reflecting Buddhist, Hindu, and Western beliefs. The stupa near the temple entrance is believed to mark King Kasyapa’s cremation site. Pidurangala offers a more challenging climb than Sigiriya and is not recommended for those with poor physical fitness.

SIGIRIYA – DAMBULLA - KANDY

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Sri Dalada Maligawa, or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a Buddhist temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, it houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. The relic has historically played a significant role in local politics, as it is believed that whoever holds the relic governs the country. Kandy, the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, is a World Heritage Site primarily because of this temple.

Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - Sri Lanka, rich in culture and tradition, offers a vibrant and unique show of traditional dances at the Kandy cultural show. The highlight is the fire-walking act, where performers walk barefoot across a pit of red-hot charcoal, emerging unharmed.

KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA - ELLA

Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden - Nuwara Eliya is renowned for its tea, thanks to its geo-climatic conditions. With altitudes over 6,000 feet, cool climates, and moderate rainfall, the region is ideal for tea cultivation. The area produces tea with unusually small leaves, resulting in a light liqueur unique to the region.

Ramboda Waterfall - Ramboda Falls, standing at 109 meters, is located in the Pussellawa area of Nuwara Eliya at the Ramboda Pass. Formed by the Puna Oya, a tributary of the Kothmale Oya, it creates a twin with Dunsinane Falls, which is formed by the Pundalu Oya. The two falls combine at the base to form a Y shape.

Nanu Oya railway station - Known for one of the most scenic train journeys in the world, the ride from Nanu Oya to Ella offers breathtaking views of vast tea plantations, waterfalls, and colorful temples. This journey is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the stunning scenery of Sri Lanka’s highlands.

ELLA - YALA

Nine Arches Bridge - The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella, part of the Demodara loop, spans 91 meters and stands 24 meters high. Its nine arches create a picturesque scene, especially as it is surrounded by dense jungle and agricultural land. The area behind the railway is forested, and tea cultivation takes place below.

Yala National Park Sri Lanka - Yala National Park is the most visited and second-largest national park in Sri Lanka. It consists of five blocks, two of which are open to the public, along with adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names, such as Ruhuna National Park (Block 1) and Kumana National Park (Yala East). Located in the southeast of the country, the park spans the Southern and Uva Provinces.

Rawana Falls - Named after the legendary King Ravana from the Indian epic Ramayana, Rawana Falls is said to be the place where Ravana hid Princess Sita in the caves behind the waterfall. The kidnapping was in revenge for Rama (Sita’s husband) and his brother Laxmana slicing off Ravana’s sister’s nose.

YALA - GALLE - BENTOTA

Galle Fort - Built first by the Portuguese in 1588 and extensively fortified by the Dutch from 1649 onwards, Galle Fort is located on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. Its history dates back to Ptolemy’s world map of 125–150 AD, when it was a busy port trading with Greece, Arab countries, China, and others. It is mentioned as a “port of call of the Levant” in the cosmography of Cosmas Indicopleustes.

Hummanaya Blow Hole - Hummanaya is a natural blowhole created when seawater rushes through a submerged cavern and is pushed upwards. The water shoots up every few minutes, depending on sea conditions, often reaching heights of 25 to 30 meters.

Mirissa Beach - Mirissa is a popular beach destination in Sri Lanka, known for its golden sands, palm trees, and vibrant atmosphere. The area features numerous restaurants, trendy shops, and hidden design hotels, making it a favorite spot for surfers and beach lovers.

BENTOTA

Madu Ganga Biodiversity Area - The Madu Ganga wetland, along with the smaller Randombe Lake, forms a complex coastal ecosystem. The estuary and mangrove islets create a rich biodiversity area. A boat ride offers fish therapy and a chance to observe the area’s natural beauty.

Sea Turtle Farm and Hatchery - Habaraduwa - The Turtle Care Centre at Kosgoda Beach is one of 18 hatcheries along Sri Lanka’s southern coast. Established in 1981, it is located in the village of Kosgoda and is notable for hosting all five species of turtles that visit Sri Lanka. This is unique compared to other hatcheries on the island, which host only some species.

BENTOTA - COLOMBO - AIRPORT

Arcade Independence Square - This monument marks the location where Sri Lanka’s first parliament was opened by HRH Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, on February 4, 1948, signifying the start of self-rule. The statue of the first prime minister, Rt. Hon. Don Stephen Senanayake, known as “The Father of the Nation,” stands at the head of the monument. It has served as a ceremonial assembly hall and is now a venue for religious events and national celebrations.

Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall - As the first purpose-built convention center in Asia, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall offers professional conference facilities and the chance to visit Sri Lanka, often called paradise on earth.

Gangaramaya (Vihara) Buddhist Temple - One of Colombo’s oldest Buddhist temples, Gangaramaya was founded by the scholar monk Hikkaduwe Sri Sumangala Nayaka Thera in the late 19th century. It is a significant temple in Colombo, blending modern architecture with cultural heritage. Located on Beira Lake, the temple was completed in the late 19th century. After the Venerable Sri Sumangala, his chief pupil Devundera Sri Jinaratana Nayake Thera transformed the temple into an internationally recognized institute.

Best honeymoon trip - We booked our honeymoon trip in Sri Lanka with Hellow Travel and it was the best decision we could have made! Our guide was Dhanuka and he made sure we knew all about the history and the information about the places we were visiting and the perfect times to see them, so it really felt like we were in good hands at all times. The transport and the stays went also very smooth and we even got hotel upgrades paying only a small difference, where he made sure we got extra treats. All in all it was a very nice experience and we got to learn so much of Sri Lanka with such a knowledgable guide that made us feel safe and looked after.

Trip to Fairy Land - Srilanka - I am visiting Sri Lanka for the first time with my nine year old daughter. Mr. Dhanuka Prasad from Hellow Travels left no stone unturned right from its planning till its day to day execution to make the trip picture perfect for the two of us. SriLanka is a beautiful country no doubt but Dhanuka's attention to every little detail made the trip like a "Fairy Tale". Thank you so so much! Will remain ever grateful.

Had an experience of our life time in Sri Lanka. Thanks to Hellow Travels - We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Sri Lanka. It was our best decision to handover our itinerary to Hellow travels. From the day I inquired about the trip 3 months prior, planning the itinerary, answering all my questions, changing the iterinery as per my requirement and until the end of our trip Mr Dhanuka has been very supportive and very gentle throughout. He made sure we are well taken care. Our Cheauffer Mr. Chintaka was also supportive and was there for us whenever we needed him. Both were very gentle and changed the iterinery according to our needs. We want to thank Mr Dhanuka for giving us this wonderful experience in Sri Lanka . Would definitely recommend Hellow travels to my friends and family.

Two magical Weeks in the Sri Lanka, the Pearl of the Indian Ocean - This was a once in a lifetime experience in all the right ways. Sri Lanka and its people are truly special, and I do not say that lightly. I’ve been lucky enough to spend time in wonderful places around the world, and Sri Lanka and its people are absolutely top of the list, thanks to Hellow Travel and especially to Dhanuka. Abundant wild life, spectacular scenery, magical temples, and beaches to rival the nearby Maldives, all packed into a country that is small enough to travel comfortably from north to south and less than a day, make this the perfect place for a holiday. But why would you do that, because every hour or so there’s a spectacular place to visit, something to see, or something special to taste or to experience. We had a private tour over two weeks of beautiful 4-5 star hotels, Glamping, safaris, great meals , and the best driver and guide you could ever hope for all for a very affordable price. But I leave the best for last - Dhanuka is an amazing person and thanks to him we really got to know Sri Lanka in a way that I have not done for any other place that I have been. He is fun, funny, smart, thoughtful, 100% trustworthy, and most of all patient and always has a smile. If you are lucky enough to have a chance to visit the magical place, jump on it, and be sure to go with Hellow travel and Dhanuka. You will be glad you did!

13 days in amazing Sri Lanka - My friend and I did 13 days in Sri Lanka. It is a fabulous place to visit. We were extremely fortunate to work with Dhanuka of Hellow Travel who worked with us patiently as we had some of our own ideas about where we wanted to stay and what we wanted to do. He helped tailor our private tour with us with great patience and attention. We begged Dhanuka to come with us as our guide /driver for our 13 day jaunt around the island. Fortunately he came with us and he was amazing. Always flexible, always cheerful with a big smile, ready to do anything we wanted at any time of day, including many very early morning starts and always making sure everything went smoothly for us. Sri Lanka is a beautiful island. It’s a rare place where in a relatively small island you can see amazing Buddhist temples, fabulous safaris and beautiful beaches. We had so many unique, and in some quite extraordinary experiences as we circled the island. Highly recommend with great enthusiasm. Wrote the review.

Magical 7 nights trip in Sri Lanka - So glad we decided to go to Sri Lanka instead of somewhere else this year. It’s a magical country with lots to offer. Warm humid beaches and misty cool mountains are all within a couple of hours drive. Our tour guide, Athula, took great care of us and went to great lengths to makes feel welcome and happy. He catered to all our needs. The program was nice and diverse for a short 7-day trip like ours. We travelled with 16, 11, and 4 year-olds and all had fun. Hotels were nice and staff were very friendly. Expect changes to the itinerary according circumstances.

Great and Easy Experience - We booked this trip pretty last minute, less than three weeks and everything was set up very well. It was an eight day trip which is doable but you will miss out on some sites. Our driver Athula was a wonderful man. Always concerned about our well being and making sure we understood what was going on and ensuring we had a good time. Only three of us on the trip and we upgraded to the larger van which was nice (we had some large luggage and concerned about trunk space). Booked the 4 star hotels and all were great, we did get some upgrades due to the current lack of tourist here and would recommend this or possibly the 5 star hotels as I don’t think they are that much more. Remember it is your trip and if you want something changed or dropped from the itinerary just ask.
