The purpose of this tour is to observe and identify butterflies in their natural habitat. Collecting specimens is strictly prohibited on Naturetrek tours and is illegal in Sri Lanka. Any participant found collecting butterfly specimens will be asked to leave the tour immediately and may face legal action in Sri Lanka. While we do not object to catching insects for identification purposes, provided they are unharmed and released promptly, tour members should note that this practice is not allowed in any of Sri Lanka’s Protected Areas, nor is it permitted to bring nets into these areas. Please only consider joining this tour if you are willing to adhere to these conditions.
