Day 01 | Arrival - Elephant Orphanage - Spice Garden - Cultural Dance - Kandy

Day 01 | Arrival - Elephant Orphanage - Spice Garden - Cultural Dance - Kandy
Ayubowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka. Representatives from Real Lanka will greet you at the airport and transfer you to a hotel in Kandy, which is approximately a 3-hour drive. On the way to Kandy, there will be a stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Established in 1975 to care for abandoned and injured elephants, it now houses over sixty elephants. Following this, lunch will be enjoyed at a spice garden before checking into the hotel. After a couple of hours of rest, you can experience a cultural dance show in Kandy. The day concludes with dinner served at the hotel.
Day 02 | Kandy City Tour - Temple of the Tooth Relic - Tea Factory - Waterfall - Transfer to Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Kandy, including a visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, the most sacred site for Buddhists in Sri Lanka. On the journey to Nuwara Eliya, the first stop is the Bhaktha Hanuman Temple in Ramboda. Next, visit the renowned Ramboda waterfall and nearby smaller waterfalls, with lunch overlooking the waterfall. In the evening, visit a tea factory to learn about the manufacturing process and sample various grades of Ceylon Tea. The day ends at a hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic: Since the 4th century AD, when the Buddha’s tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden in an Orissan princess’s hair, the relic has gained immense reverence in Sri Lanka and the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka’s most treasured possession.
Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple: It is believed that Sri Hanumanji set foot in these holy hills while searching for Sitaji. An 18 ft statue of Lord Hanuman stands at the entrance of this temple, located in the picturesque Nuwara Eliya.
Kandy: Known as the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, this world heritage site is nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains. At the heart of Kandy is the man-made lake, Kiri Muhuda (Sinhala: the sea of milk), the only decorative lake in Sri Lanka. Kandy is renowned for the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa). This beautiful city boasts numerous attractions, including the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kandy Lake, Bahirawakanda Temple for spiritual seekers, Udawattekele Sanctuary, Ceylon Tea Museum – a paradise for tea enthusiasts, Wales Park – perfect for a peaceful walk, and many more.
Day 03 | Nuwara Eliya City Tour - Seetha Amman Temple - Gregory Lake and Park - Hakgala Botanical Garden
Nuwara Eliya, known for its lush tea plantations, majestic peaks, and cascading waterfalls. Visit the Seetha Amman Temple en route to the Hakgala Botanical Gardens; its prominent architecture is sure to capture your attention. Ancient statues of Rama and Sita are visible on one side of the temple. Today, the temple is a modern structure adorned with paintings, statues, and pillars decorated with sculptures, all depicting the tale of Rama and Sita.
Nuwara Eliya: Often referred to as “Little England,” it is one of the coldest cities in the country. Throughout Nuwara Eliya, evidence of British influence is visible, including red telephone boxes and well-maintained hedgerows. The town’s high altitude offers breathtaking views over valleys, grasslands, and mountains. Many tourists pass through the town on their way to hike incredible peaks such as Adam’s Peak. The area is also known for its lush vegetation and impressive waterfalls. Nuwara Eliya is one of the largest tea plantation regions on the island.
Day 04 | Nuwara Eliya to Bentota - Water Sports - St. Claire and Devon Waterfalls
Travel to Bentota, stopping to admire the St. Claire and Devon waterfalls along the way. Optional white-water rafting at Kitulgala is available. Continue to Bentota to enjoy its stunning sandy beach, which transforms dreams of a tropical paradise into reality. This secluded crescent-shaped beach is perfect for relaxation. Overnight stay at a hotel in Bentota.
Day 05 | Sea Turtle Conservation Center - Madu Ganga River Safari - Galle Fort Walking Tour and Sunset
After breakfast at the hotel, continue the journey to the southern part of the country, the city of Galle. The first stop is the Sea Turtle Conservation Center. Then, experience the famous Madu Ganga river safari in Balapitiya, a two-hour boat ride. The Madu River is a relatively untouched lagoon, with the Maduganga estuary being a 915-hectare complex coastal wetland ecosystem that opens to the Indian Ocean. After lunch, proceed to Galle Fort for a walking tour and enjoy the sunset there. The day concludes with a transfer to a hotel in Bentota.
Day 06 | Colombo - Departure
Travel to Colombo and then transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
Colombo: A drive through the city will take you to bustling commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential Cinnamon Gardens. Activities in Colombo include a city tour, visiting Gangaramaya Temple, admiring the Red Mosque, experiencing the vibrant Pettah Market, relaxing at Mount Lavinia Beach, walking on Galle Face Green, exploring Viharamahadevi Park, being captivated by the colorful Sri Kailawasanathan Temple, visiting the Independence Memorial Hall, Colombo National Museum, or ascending the Lotus Tower.

- Climate/weather: Sri Lanka has a tropical climate and is always warm. however its much cooler in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Ella thus warm clothes are recommended and Sri lanka observe two monsoon southwest monsoon May to September rainfalls to southwest part and western side of central mountains, Northeast monsoon season will effect from December to February brings rains to north and north east part of the country.
