DAY: 01 - KANDY

Kandy District - Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, clients will be warmly greeted by our representatives. En route to Kandy, a major city in Sri Lanka’s Central Province, known as the last capital of the ancient kings’ era. Nestled amidst hills on the Kandy plateau, the city is surrounded by tropical plantations, primarily tea. Kandy serves as both an administrative and religious hub and is the capital of the Central Province. It is home to The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), a revered site in the Buddhist world, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Sri Dalada Maligawa, or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a Buddhist temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Situated within the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, it houses the Buddha’s tooth relic.

DAY: 02 - KANDY - BOTANICAL GARDENS

Royal Botanical Gardens - After breakfast, the next day includes a visit to the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. Encompassed by the Mahaweli River, this 60-hectare garden boasts over 4,000 plant species, including orchids, spices, palm trees, and medicinal plants.

Natural Gems and Gemmological Museum - The itinerary continues with a visit to the Gem Museum in Kandy, where various types of gems, including some very valuable ones, can be admired.

DAY: 03 - KANDY - SIGIRIYA

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - After breakfast, the journey proceeds to Sigiriya. Along the way, stops include the Hindu Temple, Matale Aluvihare, and Dambulla Cave Temple. The Sri Muthumariamman Temple is dedicated to Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility, featuring a prominent 55 m (180 ft) high Gopuram above the main northern gateway. The Matale Aluvihare, dating back to the 3rd Century B.C. during King Devanampiyatissa’s reign, holds historical significance. Dambulla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, with the rock towering 160 m over the plains and more than 80 documented caves in the area. Major attractions are spread across five caves, containing statues and paintings.

Sri Muthumariamman Temple - Muthumariamman Temple, or Arulmigu Sri Muthumari Amman Kovil, is a Hindu temple in Matale, Sri Lanka. “Muthu” means “pearl,” “Mari” means rain, and “Amman” means mother in Tamil. The temple is dedicated to Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility.

Aluvihara Rock Cave Temple - The Aluvihare Rock Temple is a sacred Buddhist site in Aluvihare, Matale District, Sri Lanka. Surrounded by hills, it is located 30 km north of Kandy on the Matale-Dambulla road.

Golden Temple of Dambulla - The Dambulla cave temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a World Heritage Site in central Sri Lanka.

DAY: 04 - SIGIRIYA - POLONNARUWA

Polonnaruwa - After breakfast, the journey continues to Polonnaruwa, the second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms. The ancient city of Polonnaruwa is one of the best-planned archaeological relic cities in the country, showcasing the discipline and greatness of the Kingdom’s early rulers, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY: 05 - ANURADHAPURA

Anuradhapura - After breakfast, the itinerary includes a visit to Anuradhapura and Mihintale. Anuradhapura, an ancient capital of Sri Lanka, is renowned for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient civilization and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was a center of Theravada Buddhism for many centuries. The visit includes Thuparamaya, the first dagaba or pagoda in Sri Lanka, enshrining the Buddha’s collarbone, and the Lovamahapaya, or Brazen Palace, located between the Ruwanvaliseya and Sri Maha Bodhiya. Later, Mihintale, a mountain peak near Anuradhapura, is visited. It is believed to be the site where the Buddhist monk Mahinda met King Devanampiyatissa, marking the introduction of Buddhism to Sri Lanka.

DAY 6: ANURADHAPURA - AIRPORT

Colombo - Clients will be dropped off at the airport according to their flight schedules.
