Respectful animal safari - So was our driver , communication was excellent from the time of booking and throughout the tour. As expected there were alot of trucks all jostling to see the wildlife yet So took a different route and provided us with a more personalized experience. He was considerate and respectful of the animals and the park rules which was important to us. There is so much to see and understandably no guarantees and we were not disappointed. We got to watch and appreciate many elephants, crocodiles, sloth bear,water buffalos, an array of interesting birds and even got to see a leopard lazying about in the sun. Breakfast was a perfect assortment of fruit, roti with toppings and cake. Throughly recommend So and worth every dollar to know you are with someone with years of experience.

Beautiful and successful safari with Lape - Our driver was Lape.
We were picked up from our hotel (at 4:30) without any problems, although this was not on the list of predetermined hotels.
We were the first to be picked up, after that a hotel was approached in which 3 more people climbed.
The driver drove very fast, but at all times in such a way that you felt safe. Later he explained to us that he did this to have the best possible position, at the entrance to the national park, with success.
He was very respectful of the animals, so it didn't feel like the animals were going wild. After seeing a leopard in the first 10min directly (the first 2h were scheduled, because there are the biggest chances to see some), we used the rest of the time relaxed to look for the other animals, with success.
In addition, he brought very delicious breakfast, which he had prepared together with his aunt in the morning before the safari.
Around 11:00 we made our way back.
It was an all-round recommended experience.

What a wonderful safari! - Our guide Damith was great.
We saw 2 leopards and 4 elephants within 10 minutes. Also amazing birds and many animals. Thx

Amazing experience with Damith - The driver Damith was great - he went above and beyond to find us the animals. Most often than not we were the first to see the elephants and leopards. Friendly guide and easy to book with Janaka safari.

Stunning Safari - It was excellent 👌. Damith is awesome and very knowledgeable given his 20 years experience in this combined with his tenure at the Wildlife authority. We had a wonderful time and got to see everything and more we were expecting. 2 leopards together first thing in the morning followed by a herd of 8 elephants including a 2 week old calf amongst many other birds, full bloom peacocks, water buffaloes and deer/ Absolutely stellar.
We were picked up on time at 5am, offered a humble breakfast by the Indian ocean by 8:30am and returned back by 12:30pm.
I highly recommend Janaka and his team. Very good to deal with and very reasonably priced.

Safari with Su - Recently went on a Safari with Su as our driver, he was exceptional! Explained and gave us detailed background on the landscape and animals, all whilst providing a great laugh and friendly demeanour - would highly highly recommend him!

Yala morning safari - Adult family trip. We had the best time with Su, he was so experienced and knowledgeable and his respect for the animals was paramount which made us feel better about doing this safari. We saw so much wildlife which was amazing but the highlight was the elephants, watching them bathe in the river as a group and seeing the babies was magical. Breakfast was amazing too and would highly recommend this tour, hopefully you'll get Su!

No 1 car in the queue, No.1 driver! - Su was the absolute BEST driver. There are so many options, it's overwhelming to choose. I cannot recommend this Janaka Safari Jeep Tours enough!
Su got us to the park ahead of every other vehicle, first to enter, saving queuing with masses of others!
He let us choose our focus, and our approach. He chatted throughout and answer ALL my questions with more knowledge than I could have hoped for.
We saw pretty much every animal the park has to offer. And breakfast was delicious!

Ish is a great guide - I had a great time with Ish as our guide. We saw everything I wanted to see. Definitely would come again and can highly recommend it. He made sure we were first in line and was patient to spot many of the animals

Very good experience and perfect duration - I did the special leopard safari, being the first safari I ever did. We saw a leopard, however we were very lucky because we observed a lot of animals (crocodile elephants, bears, lizards, buffalo, fawn...). Our driver and guide Damit had a great vision and discovered the animals, explaining that it was each one.
