Udawalawe National Park - This short but unforgettable safari will take you to some of the best haunts of wildlife within the Udawalawe National Park. With the support of your safari guide you will be able to catch sight of a number of flora and fauna native to Sri Lanka. The safari is designed to give you an understanding of animals in the wild, and will bring you many steps closer to raw nature.
You will be travelling in the rough terrain open Safari Jeep for the most part. But there may be points where your guide may suggest getting off and walking closer for a clear view of birds and other small wildlife. However, the safari takes serious consideration of your safety and therefore, with regards to the wild elephants and other larger wildlife, it is strongly advised that you do not descend from your jeep for safety purposes (especially when coming upon lone elephants, which may get aggressive when disturbed).

Amazing elephant safari - Great safari trip. Super friendly driver. Saw so many elephants and was a brilliant trip. We have two small children aged 4 and 6 and they both enjoyed it.

Great experience! - This was a major highlight of our trip. The guides were informative, patient, and kind. I recommend taking the last slot to enjoy the most incredible sunset. We got to take lots of photos and indulged in a King coconut provided by our guides. Definitely recommend!

Safari in Udalawawe national park - Fantastic experience in the park; guide and driver very kind, they pick up us in our hotel; we saw many elephants, birds, crocodiles, monkeys.... absolutely suggested!

Worth a visit - Really enjoyed our trip into Udawalawe National Park. We did a morning safari, (6am 10th March 2024). The driver was prompt and professionally friendly. The vehicle is in excellent condition. A very comfortable drive. Had a great few hours in the park observing assorted wildlife - notably elephants, but buffalo, jackals, monkeys, crocodiles. A traffic jam around the significant elephant sighting and a somewhat busy park but not as crazy as Yala.

A must do, an awesome safari - It was our first safari, and our guide knew where to go to see elephants, females, males and elephants. Peacocks, toucans, kingfish, crocodiles, buffalo, manouges, deer, hares, a sea eagle. The guide was very kind to the children and educational. To do absolutely

Udalawale elephant safari- 3 hours - We had a great trip at udalawale national park and were fortunate to have Chamara as our tour guide. He is very knowledgable able to spot even the tiniest birds camouflaged in the shrubs and is highly recommended. The trip lasted for 3 hours, 3-6pm and we show buffaloes, crocodiles, elephants and birds.

To avoid - Having seen other national parks during my previous trips, this one does not deserve the publicity on the internet. More than 3 hours of visit and 5 elephants seen. Other parks are more authentic, notably near Sigiryia.
