Shalimar Bagh - Emperor Jahangir constructed the renowned Shalimar Bagh, his cherished project to delight his queen. In 1619, he expanded the ancient garden into a royal retreat, naming it ‘Farah Baksh’ (‘the delightful’). This garden was created for his wife, Nur Jahan (‘light of the world’).

Nishat Garden - Nishat Bagh is a 12-tiered garden situated near the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar. It was established by Asif Khan, the elder brother of Empress Noor Jahan, who also designed the garden’s layout. It opened in 1633. The garden is located on the banks of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan mountains as its backdrop.

Srinagar

Shankaracharya Hill - This temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is considered one of the oldest shrines in the Kashmir Valley. It is named after the esteemed philosopher, Shankaracharya, who visited the valley approximately 10 centuries ago.

Chashme Shahi Gardens - This Mughal garden was constructed in 1632 AD around a spring by Ali Mardan Khan, a governor under Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It was a gift for his eldest son, Prince Dara Shikoh.

Pari Mahal - Built by Mughal Prince Dara Shikoh in the mid-1600s, Pari Mahal served as a library and residence for him. It was also used as an observatory for teaching astrology and astronomy.
