St. Andrews - Enjoy a stroll through this delightful town and explore the renowned Cathedral, Scotland’s largest and most magnificent medieval church from the 12th Century. Visit the Castle, the University Chapel (established in 1450), and the world-famous Old (golf) Course. Note: A small entrance fee applies to the Cathedral.

Dunnottar Castle - Experience one of Scotland’s and the world’s most breathtaking ruined castles. This ancient medieval fortress is perched on a rocky headland near Stonehaven. The existing structures date from the 13th to the 16th centuries, though it was initially fortified in the Early Middle Ages. The exterior can be enjoyed for free, but there is a fee to explore the interior.

Aberdeen to Inverness via Royal Deeside

Old Aberdeen - Explore the original section of Aberdeen University, which dates back over 500 years, along with other intriguing historic buildings and monuments.

Crathes Castle - Visit this captivating 16th Century Castle, featuring turrets, gargoyles, 16th-century painted ceilings, and ancient yew hedges and walled gardens in a stunning setting. An additional fee is required to enter.

Please note the castle is typically closed from mid-August to the end of October. Entrance fees are not included, but it is free during the low season.

Royal Lochnagar Distillery - Instead of a castle, consider visiting the world-renowned Royal Lochnagar distillery, established in 1845. This single malt Scotch whisky producer is located near Balmoral Castle. Learn about the whisky-making process and sample some drams. Advance booking is always required, and there is an additional cost to enter.

Cairngorms National Park - Travel through the magnificent Cairngorm National Park from Royal Deeside to Inverness.

Inverness to Edinburgh via monster hunting and Pitlochry

Loch Ness - Embark on a cruise along the impressive Loch Ness. You might catch a glimpse of the legendary “Nessie” and explore centuries of history at Castle Urquhart, which overlooks the water. An extra fee is required to enter.

Day 1. Pick you up from your Edinburgh Hotel and head towards Aberdeen via St Andrews.
Day 2. We head along Royal Deeside via an iconic castle to a Highland Cow Farm. We then visit Balmoral Castle / Royal Lochnagar Distillery, before driving through the Cairngorm Mountains to Inverness.
Day 3. We hunt for the Loch Ness monster before making our way to Edinburgh via Pitlochry, the Queens View and the House of Bruar.
