An adventurous local tour of the island! - My family had such a fun time on this excursion. Eldon our tour guide was very friendly and picked us up at the Marriot right on time. We were the only group as we went to St. Kitts on the off season so depending on when you go you may not be the only jeep. My husband who went off roading in Hawaii said the off roading was 5 star as it was still interesting for more experienced individuals, but not too challenging for beginners who are ready for an off roading experience. He will take you to 3 overlooks including Timothy Overlook (we already went to this overlook so we skipped this on our tour). The first overlook Eldon took out the St Kitts flag, told us the symbolism behind the flag and took some pictures. He also brought out some fresh sugar cane for us to try. You will see horses, goats and cows along the way and we even spotted a few monkeys. The 2nd overlook Eldon brought out some coconut that we sipped while enjoying the beautiful view. There are no bathrooms along the way so you may need to use the great outdoors! This was like a tour through the local part of St. Kitts, we saw some of their farm lands, their colorful housing, some of their industry, local businesses and stopped at some of their local vendors for some fresh plantains to make a mashed green banana recipe that Eldon recommended. We ended the tour at Frigate Bay Beach and got a bite to eat at Good Vibes. They made amazing pina coladas! Overall, we had a wonderful off roading experience which Eldon enhanced with a fun, friendly personality and treats along the way!

Views - We had so much fun riding through the mountains, seeing the all the animals and the hard working people of this island. Would definitely recommend this activity to anyone visiting the island! Thanks Eldon (our tour guide) for the seeet sugar cane. Brought back so much memories of me my mommy and grandma back home in Ghana when I was a child!!

Real Off-roading and Incredible Views - I was afraid this might just be a smooth flat dirt road tour but we actually got into some steep rutted trails that took a little skill to make it up. However, if you or anyone in your group are inexperienced drivers I would bet there are easier, less exciting roads that the guide might opt to travel. We got a narrated tour of Port Zante and Bassaterre on the way to the trailhead. We drove through thick forest roads and ended up on top of a mountain with an amazing view of the whole island. Then we had a couple refreshments and some food at Vibes before getting dropped off at our hotel. I definitely recommend this tour, it was a blast.

A thrilling self driving experience - I need to begin by saying that this trip would not be for everyone. The tour was a self driving trip that we took and required driving abilities that not everyone has. That being said it really was a highlight for me of my whole trip. We saw Vistas of the Island that no one would have gotten to see. We traveled through almost rain forest canopies up hillsides and through fields. The Guide was amazing and very personable. He made sure that we were safe and together and that the trip was a success. We have booked with Viator several times and they have been flawless.

Jeep Tour - good way to see St. Kitts - In June 2024, our family of four embarked on an off-road jeep adventure in St. Kitts. Led by the friendly and knowledgeable instructor, Eric, we explored the island’s rugged terrain. While the tour had its highlights, it’s essential to set realistic expectations. Scenic Overlook: Our first stop offered breathtaking views of the Caribbean coast from a high vantage point. The azure waters stretched out before us, creating a memorable photo opportunity. Historical Sugar Cane Site: The second stop took us to an overgrown area with remnants of St. Kitts’ sugar cane industry. Although lacking in visual appeal, Eric shared fascinating insights into the island’s past. Monkey Encounter: Amidst the lush foliage, we encountered a few playful monkeys. While not a major attraction, it added a touch of wildlife to our adventure. Rainforest Trail: The final leg of the journey led us along an overgrown two-track path, which the guides consider part of the rainforest. It was a fun drive, but don’t expect jaw-dropping vistas. Equipment Concerns: Unfortunately, the condition of our Jeep left much to be desired. The AC malfunctioned, the wipers didn’t work during the rainy weather, and every check engine light seemed to be on. These issues detracted from the overall experience. Recommendation: If you’re eager to explore beyond the resort areas and gain insights into St. Kitts’ natural beauty, this excursion is worth considering. However, if you’re seeking a thrilling off-road adventure akin to Hawaii, Aruba, or St. Lucia, manage your expectations accordingly. Final Verdict: Despite the equipment hiccups, the excursion company did their best, and Eric’s enthusiasm made up for any shortcomings. We award this experience a solid 4-star rating.
