Situated at the eastern edge of Forest Park and just a 5-minute drive from Downtown, the Central West End (“CWE”) stands out as the most lively of St. Louis’s 79 neighborhoods and is the only one recognized among the “Great Places of America.” In the late 19th century, it was the hub of Gilded Age wealth in what was then America’s fourth largest city and the unofficial capital of the country’s westward expansion. In 1904, this area hosted one of the most magnificent exhibitions of human achievement in history - the Louisiana Purchase Exposition (or World’s Fair). It’s a topic of pride that continues to be celebrated.
Come and spend some time in the elegant CWE to experience what it truly means to be a part of St. Louis.
