Highlights
  • Soulard Farmers Market - We will pass by the oldest public market west of the Mississippi and a dozen other historic homes as we stroll through the historic Soulard neighbourhood where more than a few have died and some of our more salacious headlines were born. Our journey begins and ends in front of the International Taphouse at 1711 S. 9th Street.
What's Included
  • All fees and/or taxes
Additional Information

Bank robberies, Voting Riots, bloody duels, sociopathic midwives, and prohibition gangsters: these are just a few of our tour’s colorful details plucked from old headlines in this river city! Our walk through the past of Soulard will guide us down streets with post-civil war buildings and take us by some of the best bars and restaurants in the city.

We are out to have fun and resurrect some ghastly stories of the past. Historic Soulard hosts the second largest Mardi Gras celebration in the US and for that reason, they allow us to play by Mardi Gras rules every day. We can all brazenly carry alcoholic beverages through these streets - just ask your bartender for your drink “to go” and bring it with you as we loop around the neighborhood getting a dose of history and entertainment!

Great tour! - Tim was prompt and engaging. He gave us an overview of what we would be in store for and kept to his word. His stories were accompanied by an iPad to illustrate and help tell the stories. This tour gives you a bit of a history lesson mixed with crime/murder. I definitely had to google more about what he told us because it was just that interesting! Did get a couple of bug bits along the way, so wear bugspray!

True Crime Waking Tour... - True Crime Waking Tour was a great stroll through some unknown stories of the past. Tim does a great job of bringing the past stories to the present and showing off Soulard at the same time.

Fun, Creative and Interesting “True Crime” Tour! - I traveled from Portland to STL, meeting up with family friends for my adult daughter’s birthday and included dinner @ Molly’s and this walking tour of the Soulard neighborhood as a surprise present. Despite it being a miserably hot and humid evening, Tim provided our small group with a wonderful hour of fascinating, fun and historically knowledgeable true stories of various crimes that occurred during the prior three centuries. It was great for all of us (none were familiar with St.. Louis) to learn such fun (and oftentimes gory and hilarious) facts about the city and its history. Tim’s presentation was engaging and he had clearly done his research. And somehow, despite dripping humidity, he never seemed to break a sweat! Highly recommend to others.
