An essential addition to your visit to Rio de Jeneiro! - This was an amazing food tour! Our lovely guide Thiago was very knowledgeable about indigenous cuisine and culture as well as landmarks of Rio de Janeiro. He took us to places we never would have found on our own. My friend and I had a wonderful time and both highly recommend this tour! Muito obrigada, Thiago!

A nice food tour - much better than their description and reasonably priced - We did not get a WhatsApp confirmation just before the tour (very common for most tours) so were worried a bit. Took a 5 minute Uber ride to the starting point in Ipanema (Amazonia Soul restaurant). The guides showed up on time but the other two customers never did. So we started the tour with just the two of us and two guides. Amazon food was the highlight at the first stop. Acai based foods were amazing. We then took an Uber 30 minutes to the next set of three restaurants near the old downtown - the center where the old enslaving happened before 1889. The three restaurants had unique food choices as well… we could eat food at all four places and still have a dessert at the last place without too much trouble but that’s because we did not eat after breakfast in preparation for this 3-7 pm tour. Unlike the description, you do get to taste some unique local drinks. At the Amazon restaurant it was Jambu. Another was a drink called Mamata. A couple of chicken empanadas-style dishes and another with polenta style meat and vegetable mix were also delicious. The guides, Thiago and Jurema, were very knowledgeable and explained a lot of cultural details nicely. They were also great companions on this journey so we had a lot of discussions and ran over their allotted 3.5 hour tour length. Being Friday, the Uber ride to downtown also took longer. After the tour it was easy enough to catch an Uber to our hotel. We highly recommend this tour!! Some of the foods and drinks you taste are not something you’ll come across easily in your journey in Brazil.

Highly recommend this tour! - Lea was an AMAZING guide. She was very friendly, welcoming, and above all else professional. I turned out to be the only person who signed up for this tour so Lea invited two of her newer co-workers to join so that they could learn how this tour works. To me, it felt like I was hanging out with three friends! Lea was very knowledgeable about the great city of Rio, not just the sights but also it’s history and Nina and Mika had great insight and info to add too. As for the food, they organization does a great job of picking non-touristy locations and showing us different and more authentic foods; the food they have us taste was delicious! I really felt like a local and enjoyed my evening!

The best food tour in Rio de Janeiro - It was amazing to be able to know the cuisine of various locations in Brazil in a region rich in history and to be able to know flavors with African and indigenous influences. The difference is to be able to know a little explored region in the center of Rio de Janeiro. The Mar guide provided a unique experience of history, clinery and samba. I was reluctant to do the tour alone, but I met people from different places and interjected during the whole tour.

The best food tour ever - it was an amazing tour! The guide was very nice and kind. I had a great time learning more about Brazilian food and culture. At the end we've been to Pedra do Sal for a samba party. I highly recommend this experience!

Yummy and awesome! - Tour guide was really knowledgeable and took us to some great places to eat! I really enjoyed the tour and the walk wasn’t too far. We did a tour right before this and were still able to keep up with the group! Definitely recommend!

Excellent experience - Natalia was a brilliant guide and took us to all the air conditioned places which was bliss in the heat wave. We learnt so much about Rio from someone who lives there and is very knowledgeable. 3 hours flew by.
