The visit was short but worth the experience. It’s freezing in NY - Awesome time. Mateo really makes you feel like family. The Brazilian steakhouse gets a 4. Not his fault.but great day! To say the least

Magnificent and unforgettable - We have been able to get to know the city of Rio with our Super Guide, Alexia. She showed us the beauty of the most important places and we were able to soak firsthand how vibrant and culturally interesting Rio is. We have fallen in love with the city and live an unforgettable day. Now we take in the suitcase the memories of a magnificent day and many laughs, good food and better company. Thanks again, Alexia for this amazing day and for being so Pro and close. We will return to Rio ❤️

Beautiful experience to recommend, views, meals and the Alexia Guide, all top notch. - A wonderful experience because beyond how beautiful Rio is, we were lucky to have an excellent Guide (Alexandra Florencio Oliveira) that in addition to explaining very clear and complete, helped us to appreciate everything we saw in a different way. Always well disposed, respectful, cheerful and attentive to the needs of the group without losing sight of its objective. It was an unforgettable ride for us. A wonderful tour with a likewise guide and driver - Carlos Adriano is a kind, accommodating and impressive polyglot. A knowledgeable guide he made this tour memorable and enjoyable. He has the patience of a Saint. For all walks of life, families, couples, solo travelers and elder couples, he is most highly recommended. The driver Pedro too, was excellent and generous with even allowing me to charge my phone in his van outlet!

A Great Intro to Rio Highlights - Sandra was our guide and she was friendly and knowledgeable. We had a slight snafu when Sandra tried to alter the itinerary to take us to Sugar Loaf first. She forgot that it was Monday, not Sunday, and we arrived hours before it was open. So back on the bus we went to follow the original itinerary. After that, things went smoothly. CTR was impressive but quite crowded, as were the Selaron Steps. Sugar Loaf was fantastic. The lunch was just okay. I felt a little rushed at some sites (15-20 minutes free time at each), but otherwise it was a great experience!

Overall an Average but Acceptable Tour - Overall this tour is just okay. They try to squeeze in a lot of things so you get a limited time at each stop. The good thing was that our guide was bilingual and explained stuff clearly and ensured everyone was present. Sadly our bus broke down early in the day and we were forced to wait 1 hour for a replacement bus. Sometimes things like this happen and although it was annoying at first thankfully the replacement bus had good air conditioning. The buffet lunch was average. The meats were decent but there was just too much to eat.

Solid tour but warning if you’re claustrophobic - This was a solid tour in terms of the guide, who was great, and how things were organized. We covered a lot of ground in a way that doing on our own would have been challenging. I gave 3 stars because the van is fine but if at capacity, it’s too crammed and uncomfortable for a long day. By the time we were picked up the only seats were in the very back and a few minutes in when we hit traffic I nearly had a panic attack. I couldn’t see anything outside, the way the seats are elevated and it was hot and I knew I couldn’t survive. I was prepared to exit the tour at the first stop, but instead, made sure I was the first person on the van after stop #1 and unfortunately “took” someone else’s more comfortable seat. Thankfully at the second stop some others did exit the tour early and everything was fine from there. Only other thing was that lunch was underwhelming and a couple of the stops were a little pointless. If you can splurge for a private tour, do it. If you’re on a budget, do this one if you’re not claustrophobic and don’t have high expectations for lunch.

BEWARE THIS TOUR COULD JEOPARDIZE YOUR SAFETY! - This tour felt very rushed we were only given 5 minutes some places and no more than 20 minutes other places. When we got to the Seleron Stairs we were only given 20 minutes to shop and get pictures. There was a line to take pictures on the stairs. When we got back we were 8 minutes late and the tour guide had left us. He never attempted to call us eventhough You provide your number to Viator. We attempted to reach the tour company but only got voicemail. We were very frightened and dismayed being that we heard many stories about how unsafe Brazil can be and we are 2 Black American women who do not speak portugese. He never told us where the next stop would be and my cousin had also left her bag on the van. We were in shock and denial that we had been left and waited at the pick up spot for about 45 minutes unsure what to do thinking he would come back for us. Luckily we found another tour guide who spoke english who knew our tour guide and was able to call him. The tour guide said he had never heard of a Tour Guide leaving a tourist before. When he called our guide he lied about the time he told us to return. He told the guide what restaurant they were at and we caught a cab there to meet the rest of the group. When we got there he lied AGAIN about the time he left us. I know this because we were at the pick spot at the time he claimed he left and they were already gone. When we got to the restaurant we were only given 10 minutes to eat and weren’t allowed the full meal like the rest of the group. Over all iIt was a very upsetting and traumatic experience. We were the ONLY Black Americans on the tour and I honestly feel like that’s why we were left behind so thoughtlessly. On other stops when others were late he never considered leaving them. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TOUR. BEWARE this is a warning this tour could jeopardize your safety.
