We could not organise a visit to a favela with our South America tour not safe? We were in a very small group and this allowed us to ask questions and move around easily. At no time did we feel unsafe! People we met/passed in Rocinha were friendly and polite. Tijuca Forest was also beautiful, but a very short time spent there.

She was welcoming and had very good knowledge about Brazil's history as well as socioeconomic issues such as the Favelas. The Rocinha favelas were very safe and interesting to discover. Linda gave us a great overview of the social activity. As well, she was greeted by many locals which made the experience friendly. The jeep tour through the Tijuca rainforest was also interesting and a nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. Linda took time to point out various animals and points of interest China view and let us stop to take pictures. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed this trip. The highlights... -
I enjoyed this trip. The highlights was definitely experiencing the Favela. We were taken by jeep to the favela and then we were dropped off and continue by foot, that was great. I was supposed to do the morning tour but for some reason it was cancelled after waiting for a good hour. The afternoon team was great. Honestly, I was expecting more from the Tijuca rainforest trip, it was quite lame and we could have done without it. We did see a fall but there was nothing interesting to get to it, no adventure or excitement of any kind. Overall, just to see and experience the Favela it was worth it.

Liked the pick up and return to the hotel. Guide very friendly and courteous. Hot and humid weather hindered the Favela portion of the tour. Would recommend this tour.
