Excellent forest hikes - Really nice forest hikes with Henry who was a down to earth and genuine person. His history of being a gringo in Rio and spending time there was very interesting and he had a passion for the forests and environment. A great day spent.

Excellent way to get to know the Tijuca forest plus information on living in Rio / Brazil more widely. - Our small group comprised my wife, me and one other lady, which was excellent.... we received a lot of information about the Tijuca Forest - plants, animals and history; we also benefited from a lot of first-hand information about living in Rio / Brazil and the love-hate relationship that many people, including our guide has, with the country. I really would recommend this trip to anyone interested in a more intimate tour exploring areas where the main stream tours don't get to, but do stress that you need a reasonable level of fitness to hike up some of the vantage points. We are both early 60s and hike a lot (my wife has a few knee issues) but found it fine. P.S. bring a change of clothes or swimsuit; the waterfalls are amazing.

I did various tours with Henry, City Tour, Two Brothers, Vidigal Favela tour, Tijuca and Telegraph! - Another spectacular tour in the forest. I read online that this was one of the largest urban forests in the world. Although large, Henry did inform me that it was not Tijuca but White Stone state park in the west (3 times the size of Tijuca) haha. Still the Tijuca national park and its 4,000 hectares is incredible nonetheless! You could easily walk around there for days and days, Henry made that clear. Haha. We were picked up at 645am, since it was carnival, and there was a lot of traffic and people in the streets going to blocos. Henry was super clear with communication as well as his team. He gave us all estimated times of arrival and confirmed the addresses the night before. We did have one incident in the morning, two clients came extremely late, delayed the group and then started to block the van and film us. 👀🤣 it was crazy.... honestly Henry handled it really well, told them they would receive a refund and said they would not be allowed to join the tour for security reasons. Fernando was the person, they had bad vibes and I'm glad they didn't join. After the incident, we arrived at the park on time and all was good. We did not see many animals, but at the end we saw a few monkeys and a toucan! However the real treat was the waterfalls and connection in nature, surrounded by a massive metropolis. We visited four waterfalls, Horto was the best (the last one). I will say it wasn't a bit challenging, but Henry, was very helpful going up and down (You have to do a small climb) and not everyone did this last hike a few stayed in the van and waited for us to return.. Henry was also really knowledgeable about the plants, animals and the park's history, which was very important to me. When I travel I want to know this information, that's basically why I'll hire a guide. Highly recommend this experience.

Best experience, would book with same company again 10/10 times - Went on the Tijuca Forest hike with Experience Rio and Henry. Henry was the best tour guide I’ve ever had- I am not exaggerating. Even though TripAdvisor doesn’t show many reviews, look up Experience Rio on Google Maps. Here is my review below: We spent 6 hours with Henry, with a personal pickup from our hotel in Copacabana and then guided tour through Tijuca. There was about 8 individuals total including our group. Henry is an American who has been in Brazil for 15 years and is extremely knowledgeable all things Brazil, Rio, and most importantly safety. He made the experience fun with the energy he brought, telling stories and jokes, and also provided great recommendations for the rest of Rio. Our group was diverse. My group is all young 20 year olds while there was a family and some middle-aged travelers. Great company and tour for all ages. I would write about the actual experience and hike (which was amazing) that’s not what the tour company should get credit for. Instead, they brought great vibes, made our experience awesome, and deserve great praise. I would recommend Experience Rio for travelers from families to groups of friends.

Sick hiking in one of the world's largest urban forests. No large groups, no jeeps and awesome guides! - I have booked multiple tours with Experience Rio, and I have to say these guys are the BEST! Henry, Ricardo and Rodrigo are three excellent professionals and working mad hard to show off this city! We had a minor delay at drop off, the traffic in the city is terrible so at the end of the tour, Henry Suggested we get an the metro because we were staying in Gloria. To drive back, it would have taken us over an hour and a half, so i'm hella grateful that he suggested us taking the Metro, it took 25mins and was empty at 230pm. If you're staying anywhere outside of Leblon or Ipanema, it may be worthwhile to meet there and the metro even takes credit card and apple pay just like OMNY in nyc. On this tour we did Pedra Bonita, which was a very easy hike, i don't think it was longer than thirty minutes. But yo that view is epic, especially for the fact that it's inside the city in such a short hike. We even saw Monkeys which was cool. After leaving this area, we visited another section of the same park. As henry explained, there are four sections and they're all broken up throughout the city. We visited two of those sections which were the largest ones. The waterfalls are really refreshing and we did two, one was called souls and the other called Horto! Horto had a minor climb of about 15ft max, there is a rope we had to use but Henry he told me exactly where to put my feet and where to walk, so it was easy. One thing I wish you didn't have in the park are these jeeps. We were sitting and enjoying a very peaceful moment in the park, and all of it is a sudden five, huge safari jeep tours full of very elderly people rolled up on us killing the vibe. Bro, that was wild. Luckily for us, that was in only one moment, the rest of the time, we were a little deeper into the forest away from most other tours. Don't book this tour if you have health issues, I couldn't imagine doing it. Or at least reach out first!

WORST EXPERIENCE In Rio. Dont recommend this company - WORST EXPERIENCE EVER I DONT RECOMMED AT ALL The staff are completely uneducated. The organization is terrible. They message you through multiple chat accounts and then don't even know who they're talking to.
