Unfurling towards the end of the trail is a notable staircase comprising 177 steps, which were carved out in the early 20th century under the instructions of the then president for welcoming the King of Belgium.
During the journey, we’ll be making stops at the renowned Chinese View situated at Alto da Boa Vista as well as the Taunay Waterfall, the highest waterfall in the forest standing at 35 meters!
The round trip of the Tijuca Peak trail spans 4.700meters with a vertical ascent of approximately 300 meters.
For the majority of the trip, we will be in the forest, with opportunities to spot toucans, monkeys, and sizable colonies of raccoons who are notorious for rummaging though trash bins and stealing people’s food.
