Stavanger, known for its beautiful landscape boasting many fjords and mountains, is a wonderful city to explore. It’s also jam-packed with museums, which you will have wonderful access to along the bus route, where you will be able hop-off and discover the history and cultural heritage of Stavanger.

The tour begins at the Strandkaien Cruise Terminal, perfect for those who are arriving in Stavanger via cruise ship. Passengers can hop-on here to start the tour from the beginning, or may join at any of the other allocated tour stops. One of the first notable sights to admire along the route is the beautiful Stavanger Cathedral; a popular landmark in the city for its striking architecture and elegantly decorated interior. Another of Stavangers most attractive sights along the route is the iconic Ledaal Royal Residence. Famous for being the official residence to the King of Norway, you can hop-off the bus tour to enjoy close-up views of this wonderful attraction!

Along this tour, there’s many museums for passengers to hop-off and explore. One of the most memorable along the route is the Petroleum Museum, an interesting attraction that includes many exhibitions, which explores why Stavanger is considered Europe’s oil capital. This attraction is also one of the cities best-known for its unique architecture, which has even been critically acclaimed for its striking design. Another unique museum along the route is the Stavanger Art Museum. This lakeside attraction has an interesting igloo-shaped exterior and is home to an impressive selection of contemporary, colourful artwork.

Great Way to See the City ! - The Hop on, Hop off buss is a very efficient and very affordable way to see the highlights of the city. The service is friendly and well managed.

Brilliant way for an introduction to Stavanger - A brilliant way to see Stavanger and to decide where you want to get off and explore. You get a 24 hour ticket which is good for the bus and a boat trip. There are 12 stops and free onboard WiFi. I like the fact that you can download a QR to find out the nearest stops and when the bus is due. Our stops were, Old Stavanger, Cathedral, Cathedral, Petro Museum, Skansekaien, Ovre Holmegata, Petri Church, Archaeology Museum, Stavanger Museum, Mosvatnet Park, Art Museum, Royal Residence.

Hop on, ripped off (on a Sunday) - Maybe because it was a Sunday and everything is closed, but it felt a waste of money. All of the places of interest such as museums etc were closed. Basically, nobody hopped on or off. There's no point. Just take a walk around the old town and don't waste your money. It could be a better bet on a week day, so check this out first.

Save your money, just walk. - The bus route around the city was I feel way over priced for what you get. One of the drop off points, the architecture museum was closed, as was the Stavanger Museum. Taking into account that these were 2 of the drop off points, where many passengers got off, the tour operators should have informed passengers of that. A waste of money unless you are not able bodied, better off walking, which is what we actually did after finding that the museums were closed. Disappointing waste of money, taking advantage of a captive audience so to speak. Would not recommend.

Would not recommend! - Honestly could not recommend. The first bus we got on broke down after only a short period of time. These things happen of course so we weren’t bothered, we just got off and walked to the next stop. All was fine until we got off at the Swords in the Rock, the furthest point of the circuit. We ended up having to wait well over an hour for a bus from here. Meanwhile an extremely large queue of people had started to gather. When a bus arrived it was a terrible free for all. People pushing to get on before letting people off, people with prams being pushed past. The driver was powerless to control what was happening at all. The bus was packed full of people which was a very unsafe situation. We ended up getting off as soon as we reached a point where we could walk back into the town centre and did not get on another bus. A complete waste of money. Most points of interest are within walking distance so we needn’t have bothered.

Don’t bother - If I only read the reviews before I wasted good money on this so called tour. RIP off - no signage. No wifi. No announcements only ear bits that don’t work. Some out of order on d bus. Disappointing to say the least

The tour that never happened - The tour was cancelled due to a bike race in town and we were given no notice. Then it was too late for us to book another excursion. A day wasted.

Don’t waste your money! - Total waste of money! Leaflet and sales staff say busses every 30 minutes. This is not true! When we complained about the wait we were told they’d try and get another bus to come along soon. When it did we sat on it for 45 minutes. The route lacked commentary on the tour, long gaps with no explanation of where we were! Very expensive for an uninteresting tour. Your best bet is to walk around the old town and enjoy that.

Don't waste your money!! - Really poor value for money. Seem to have to wait at least an hour for a bus if you decide to get off. The app to track buses only shows one bus but they claim there are three. The viking farm was closed, and the rest of the stops are not worth seeing. Total waste of money.
