- Stavanger - Get ready for an exciting journey! The tour kicks off at the central Stavanger city harbor, where you’ll receive your gear and a safety briefing from your captain. As you depart the harbor, you’ll pass by Stavanger from the sea, offering a picturesque view of Norwegian history. The speed begins gently, allowing you to enjoy the vibrant waterfront life. Be sure to catch sights of the old city, the Valgberg tower, and the Norwegian Oil Museum.
- Hogsfjorden - Begin your adventure to Lysefjorden as you enter open waters, leaving the city behind. With two four-stroke engines, you’ll glide across the surface at 35 knots, passing by islets, skerries, and reefs. Along the way, you’ll see charming seaside cabins and large salmon farms.
- Lysefjord - The Lysefjord, stretching an impressive 42 kilometers, is one of Norway’s most renowned fjords. Shaped by millennia of ice ages, it features a dramatic landscape where steep mountains, covered with lush green forests and cascading waterfalls, rise sharply from clear waters. The fjord’s name, “The Fjord of Light,” comes from the light-colored granite rocks along its sides. As you travel through its narrow corridor, keep an eye out for the vibrant wildlife in the area. On a good day, you might spot seals, porpoises, sea eagles, and more.
- Fantahålå - The infamous Vagabond Cave, locally known as ‘Fantahålå’, is a hidden nook in the fjord’s mountainside, nestled in a narrow cove. Local legend speaks of a group of tramps who once hid here to evade the local sheriff. As the tale goes, when he finally found them, they kept him at bay with a rock-solid argument—throwing stones until he left them alone.
Your captain will steer the boat into this secluded spot in the cliffs, allowing your imagination to wander back to the drama that once took place here.
- Pulpit Rock - Formed by a melting glacier 10,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age, Pulpit Rock is one of the world’s most famous cliffs and a symbol of Norway. Your captain will position the boat for a prime view to admire its breathtaking cliff-face and share stories of its special place in Norwegian history. From its discovery and challenging first ascent by Thomas Peter Randulf over a century ago, to its descent by Henry Cavill in Mission Impossible: Fallout.
- Hengjanefossen waterfall - As we near Hengjanefossen, you’ll experience the awe-inspiring power of nature. This waterfall, also known as ‘Whisky Falls’, stands 75 meters tall and is unique for its cascading streams that intertwine to create a mesmerizing sight. As the water cascades down the cliff, it forms a mist that envelops the mountainside in an ethereal haze. Your captain will bring you right to the base of the falls, offering a perspective few ever see. You can even take a sip if you’re inclined, as the runoff is crystal clear, though not as potent as the nickname suggests. This playful name is a nod to a moonshine distillery once operated nearby by a German named Heinrich Mohr.
