What a fantastic way to experience the winelands, from between the ears of a horse. Our 2 Hour trail ride will start off with a short lesson for novices, after which we will head out onto the trail.
The trail will take you through orchards, along the Eerste River, across vineyards and up into the hills. The scenery is simply magnificent!
We do not mix groups, so you will not be held back or put under pressure from other guests. Everyone gets exactly the ride they want, be that a gentle walk through vineyards, or a fast paced canter down a farm track.
Your guide will be a local guide, with vast knowledge of South-African culture, the local area and natural horsemanship.
Our horses are absolutely the heart of our business. We work with them through connection and natural horsemanship which means they are well trained, and gentle natured. We never ride the same trail twice, so expect a wonderful ride!

- Please wear long trousers, suncream and closed shoes.
- You are under no obligation to tip your guides, however any tips received go directly to our groom and are much appreciated. If you would prefer not to leave a tip, but you enjoyed your ride and would like to show your appreciation then please leave a review

Excellent ride! - Stunning scenery, wonderful well cared for horses, kind and patient guides who do a very good job explaining the basics of riding and how to treat the horses well. Able to take experienced riders and beginners so everyone can go at the right pace for an enjoyable and fun ride. Highly recommend!

Beautiful horse ride through the vineyards - It was a very beautiful environment and the horses looked very good. The guide was nice and knew what he was talking about. A very nice memory/experience all around!

10 star experience!!! - What a nice way of spending some time in the vineyards. I was lucky enough to be the only one on the tour with Tequila (horse) and one of the owners (Rudi?) that day, so I had plenty of opportunities to ask questions and learn about the quite unpleasant past of the horses as well as about the steps taken to rescue them. One could clearly see that the present owners care about the horses and their wellbeing. An absolutely worthwile (and informative) trip to beautiful Stellenbosch vineyards on horseback in nice company. Thank you!!!

Brilliant way to send the day - It was so relaxing to take a 2 hour ride through the vineyards. Our host and guide were amazing at getting us comfortable with the horses and showing us the basics.

Experience of a lifetime! - Finlay, the sweetest, kindest horse! Watching the sun go down as the moon rose from horse back. Fun - cantering through the vineyards! Experience of a lifetime- bareback swimming with the horses in the dam!! Kind, well trained and in great condition - Lou's horses are definitely not your average plod-along trail ponies :)

Slightly disappointing experience - Very beautiful landscape, but no explanation or comment from the guide. It was a little dry and boring, we just took a horseback ride, nothing more!
