• Lanzerac Wine Estate - With a history dating back to 1692, Lanzerac Wine Estate is a historic landmark and a symbol of Stellenbosch. This grand estate is renowned for its old-world charm and rich Cape heritage. Nestled in the picturesque Jonkershoek Valley on the outskirts of the historic town of Stellenbosch, the estate offers stunning views of dramatic mountain ranges, endless vineyards, and gardens shaded by majestic Oak trees. Visitors can indulge in a wine and chocolate pairing experience.
• Stellenbosch - In 1679, Simon van der Stel, the Governor of the Cape Colony, discovered the valley and named a small island on the Eerste River after himself. The town’s architecture features restored Cape Dutch buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries. However, the advent of motor vehicles led to the demolition of some historical buildings to make way for new commercial structures.
• Rust en Vrede Tasting Room - The official date on the Title Deed of Rust en Vrede is March 12th, 1694. The property was granted by the Governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel. The Cape Dutch buildings on the property date back to 1780, and today, they all hold National Monument status. They are living history, used daily – the Manor house is still inhabited, and the original winery is now the Rust en Vrede Restaurant. Guests can enjoy an estate tasting here.
• Waterford Estate - Operating since 1998, the estate is proudly owned by the Ord family. The name Waterford combines the Ord surname with the waterfalls from the surrounding mountains (WATERF + ORD). The idea was suggested by the eldest daughter, Ashleigh Ord. Upon entering Waterford Estate, visitors will be captivated by the natural beauty of the wine farm, reflected in each of the wines. Spend the day leisurely enjoying one of the distinguished wines, surrounded by the serene views of the Helderberg mountain.
