- Aulis Archaeological Area - The 5th-century temple of Artemis Aulidia is marked from Vathy, though it remains fenced and locked. Located just within Boiotian territory on a major land route from Chalkis, it is adjacent to a sheltered harbor. The temple’s foundations and the sacred spring across the street can be seen through the fence. The temple is oriented to face the southeast, possibly towards Delos, Artemis’ birthplace. Beneath the 5th-century BC temple, an 8th-century BC apsidal building with Geometric pottery was discovered. East of the temple is the covered ‘sacred fountain’ with steps. To the southwest, a Hellenistic complex of pottery workshops (3rd-2nd century BC) has been uncovered, along with a nearby hospice (îåíὼí). In the Late Roman period (4th century AD), baths were constructed in the temple area. The sanctuary was destroyed in AD 396 during the Gothic invasions.
- Chalkida’s Seaside - As the capital of Euboea, this historic city is renowned for its role in Greek colonization and the Chalkidic alphabet, which influenced the Latin script. Visitors can observe the unique tidal currents of the Euripus Strait and explore the city’s cultural landmarks.
- Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Χαλκίδας Αρέθουσα - The new Archaeological Museum of Chalkida “Arethousa” opened in May 2021, housed in the industrial building of the distillery “Arethousa S.A.”, a heritage monument from the early 20th century. A special thematic section highlights the building’s history and significant elements from Euboea’s history, including the Heroon of Lefkandi, colonization, the spread of the Euboean alphabet, the Sanctuary of Artemis at Avlida, the myth of Iphigenia, and Chalkida’s Byzantine and Ottoman past.
- The Ancient Theatre of Eretria - Located in the theatre district of Eretria Municipality, Evia Prefecture, the ancient theatre’s first construction phase likely dates to the last third of the 4th century BC, with the second phase around 300 BC, based on an inscription from the reign of Demetrios Poliorcetes. During the third and final phase, after 198 BC, the stage building was expanded.
- Steni Dirfyos - This delightful mountain village is nestled at the base of Mount Dirfis. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk, admire the lush landscapes and traditional stone houses, and savor authentic local delicacies at a cozy taverna.
- ΕΞΩ ΠΑΝΑΓΙΤΣΑ - A prehistoric settlement and cemetery from the Early Bronze Age (3000-1900 BC), located in a fertile and strategic area on the Euboian channel near Chalkis. A decade of work at Manika was completed some time ago, yet only a small portion of the settlement has been excavated. Most of the site (around 600 stremmata) has been covered by buildings, hindering further excavation.
