A fabulous adventure with a wonderful guide - What can I say! I thoroughly recommend kestrel wildlife safari. Gareth met us promptly at the meeting point and whisked us away into the wilderness. He is extremely knowledgable about the area and the wildlife and was happy to answer any questions through the time together. He has great local contacts to help decide the best places to take you for the highest chance of seeing nature at its best. Although nothing is ever guaranteed when looking for wildlife we got to see golden eagles, rutting deer, red squirrels and a kingfisher - a first even for Gareth. There were lots of other birds too but these were definitely our highlights. Hot drinks and biscuits along with binoculars, spotting scope and identification charts were all on hand too! Even if you don’t see all that we did, Gareth will make your safari with him enjoyable, informative and a fascinating experience

5 golden eagles!! - We had an amazing trip. We saw 5 golden eagles, which blew us away. We brought a visitor from Madagascar with us and they were amazed to see the spectacular views, a red deer harem, some stunning views of large red stags posing beautifully on the hilltops, a family of stonechats and hooded crows. It was proper "Monarch of the glen" stuff! Gareth really knows and loves the place and that comes across very clearly, his knowledge of the local wildlife is amazing. A very comfortable trip and the coffee and biscuit stop was very welcome (plus hot chocolate for the kids). The five golden eagles turning up and soaring overhead while we were having our coffee just sealed it as an incredible wildlife experience.

Safari Adventure in the Scottish Highlands!! - Our first ever safari! What an adventure!! Weather conditions turned out to somewhat limit visibility of some of the more distant features on the day we went, but we still were rewarded with plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife. Gareth was such a wonderful guide! He clearly loves this part of the Scottish Highlands and it’s easy to see why. So much beauty and history all around! Gareth was able to share a wealth of information about the local ecosystems and he answered all my questions about the history of this area and modern conservation efforts and land management practices. We were quite remote on the route we took during our safari. We definitely could not have gotten to the places that we saw without Gareth and his awesome Land Rover. The stream crossing was a hit with the kids! Having coffee, hot chocolate, and treats midway through was a thoughtful (and greatly appreciated) touch. I get the sense that every trek out with Gareth would be a unique and authentic experience. If we ever find ourselves in this part of Scotland again we’ll be sure to book another adventure!!! Can’t recommend enough. Fun for families, friends, adventurers, wildlife enthusiasts and amateurs alike!

Best wildlife safari in all of Scotland! - Great fun! Gareth was brilliant, he was very knowledgeable about the wildlife & vegetation, he was easygoing & engaging, and he made our whole family feel comfortable on our adventure! The kids especially enjoyed the hot chocolate & biscuit Gareth provided at one of the most beautiful stops/spots in all of the highlands! We would all highly recommend this trip and look forward to another safari adventure with Gareth the next time we are in Scotland!

Outstanding trip with Kestrel Wildlife Safaris - We had a wonderful family excursion with Kestrel Wildlife Safaris! The two girls loved it because our guide was so engaging and not only knew lots about the local wildlife and kept everyone’s interest for the whole trip, which I didn’t think would be possible with our children! I know nature can be unpredictable but there was so much to see and we even got a hot chocolate and brownie! Would thoroughly recommended it as a family afternoon out and would go again for the longer version next time we go on holiday to Scotland!
