- Deanston Distillery & Visitor Centre - The adventure starts at Deanston Distillery, located along the River Teith. Once a cotton mill, this distillery now crafts a selection of premium single malt whiskies. Visitors can opt for a guided tour (tickets available on-site) to discover the traditional whisky-making process and the rich history of this unique site. Conclude with a tasting session of Deanston’s finest malts, led by an expert who will describe the distinct flavors and characteristics of their whiskies.
- Glencoe - A brief stop at Glencoe reveals the site of one of Scotland’s most infamous massacres. The silent hills of the Glen tell a story of betrayal from the 17th century, which your guide will recount. The sorrow of the ‘weeping valley’ is palpable, yet Glencoe remains one of Scotland’s most stunning landscapes, a must-see in the Scottish Highlands!
- Fort William - The journey continues through Fort William, passing the majestic Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the British Isles. The Nevis Range looms over the winding road as the tour progresses towards Loch Ness.
- Fort Augustus - Eager to catch a glimpse of ‘Nessie’?
Fort Augustus is a charming Highland village on the southern shores of the Loch. Visitors can explore the village and its picturesque Caledonian Canal lock system, designed by renowned engineer Thomas Telford in the 19th century, which flows through the village into Loch Ness. A walk along the canal and into the countryside offers views of mountains, farm animals, and possibly red deer.
- Commando Monument - The tour includes a stop at the Commando Memorial. In 1942, this area served as the training ground for Britain’s Special Forces. The setting is harsh, unforgiving, and breathtakingly beautiful. A statue honors the heroes, overlooking the Nevis range. This is a prime photo opportunity, so bring a camera!
Weather permitting, Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK, can also be seen from here.
- Cairngorms National Park - Traveling south, the tour passes through Cairngorm National Park, home to red squirrels, roe deer, red deer, soaring buzzards, pine martens, golden eagles, and ospreys. The final stop of the day is Pitlochry.
- Pitlochry - On the way south, a stop in Pitlochry allows for a leg stretch and fresh air. This charming town is nestled in the heart of Highland Perthshire’s stunning scenery. It lies beneath Beinn Bhracaigh (Ben Vrackie), the speckled mountain, and beside the River Tummel, amidst some of Scotland’s most magnificent landscapes. With surrounding hills and beautiful woodlands, it is a wonderful area for walking.
- Forth Bridge - As the tour re-enters Edinburgh from the north, visitors are greeted by views of Scotland’s engineering marvel, the Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 19th-century wonder was once the world’s longest cantilever bridge. It stands alongside the 20th-century Forth Road Bridge and the 21st-century Queensferry Crossing, which opened in 2017. These three spectacular bridges, from three different centuries, span the Firth of Forth, connecting the capital city with the Kingdom of Fife.
- Edinburgh - The tour concludes with a drop-off in the city center, with an estimated arrival time of 8:30 PM. During the winter season, arrival may be earlier than expected.
It is recommended to allow 2 hours between the expected arrival time and any onward travel or reservations in case of delays, as individual drop-offs are not available.
