Our tour guide Frasier... - Our tour guide Frasier was a wonderful young man. He was so informative and gave our family the best view of what Scotland has to offer. My family and I are so grateful to have such a wonderful experience and it was all because of this amazing man. Thank you Frazier we will always remember you my good friend….

First Trip to Scotland - Fraser was our driver and tour guide. He arrived early for pick up and let us know he was there and to take our time which was appreciated. From the first introduction, we knew we were in for a tremendous day. Fraser was very warm and friendly, taking the time to get to know us and why we were visiting Edinburgh. We got to talking about golf, whisky, family. He told us that he got married at the first distillery on our tour, Glengoyne. His passion for his role in our experience was almost as enjoyable as the whisky itself. Before we knew it, we were crossing the street and highland barrier line and into the still room of Glengoyne. Since my mother has MS and has to walk with a cane, Fraser took the time to go and ask the staff about accommodations. They were more than generous, setting us up with a private tour that remained on the lower level. Getting to learn the special distillation process that Glencoyne has built their name upon, learning about the effects of the different casks, and finally getting to taste the exquisite whisky’s in a private tasting room, all before leading into the store to purchase a bottle to take home. After a 10/10 experience at Glencoyne, we were off to Loch Lamond and Balhama. Fraser made us lunch reservations at the Oak Tree Inn which was much needed after a few proper sips of whisky. The views of Loch Lamond are second to none and Fraser even gave us some background on how much Loch Lamond has been a part of his life to this day and the lives of countless other Scots. After lunch and a quick observation of some brave souls swimming in the loch (albeit 45 degree waters and sleeting rain), we were off to our second and final distillery. Before we got there, Fraser was kind enough to stop at a Tesco in Callander so we could pick up some essentials for the rest of the week. Set just before the highlands and around the corner from Dunendin Castle (Monty Python and the Holy Grail fame), we found ourselves at Deanston Distillery to experience the waxy and buttery whisky’s they have to offer. We learned about how the property was a fully operating cotton mill, opening in the 1700s, until the founder of Deanston purchased the mill and property in the early 1960s. After a quick six months, the fully functioning distillery opened. We again learned about the distillation process, and the differences from Glencoyne, before once again finishing with a lovely tasting of three different Deanston whisky’s. On our way back to our accommodations, we spotted a rainbow near Sterling. Not only was this the brightest one we’ve ever seen, but it stayed full for the remainder of our drive (more than 30 minutes), and at one point a double rainbow formed. Talk about a perfect ending. A nearly 6 hour day from pick up to drop off felt like 5 minutes, all due in large part to Fraser and his immense knowledge, passion, and love for Scotland. If we ever make it back to your lovely country, we will absolutely book an experience with Hopscotch Travel, and hopefully with Fraser.

Luxury / Executive Tour - We wanted something a little more Bespoke and High-End for an event in Edinburgh. After a bit of searching Hopscotch seemed to fit our needs and we booked. Very glad we did! The team really looked after us and the transport was top-notch comfort. The local knowledge really helps. Would use them again.
