Highlights
  • Dalarö Kajak - We’ll meet at 09.00 at the office south of Stockholm before driving together to Dalarö, a charming little village, from where we’ll begin paddling with our kayak . On the way it’ll come to your notice, one of those magnificent little wooden red houses, discreetly placed among the pines.

We’ll explore different islands by kayak all along the day. Our kayak tour will be granted by a filling meal that we will share on one of the deserted islands. There, we’ll take time to rest, with only companion the swell of the Baltic and the singing birds. In the end of the afternoon, we will paddle towards Dalarö our starting point. We’ll go around other islands and get the opportunity to see other fantastic things from this part of the archipelago that is probably one of the nicest and wildest. It’d be magic to see a sea eagle circling around the islands, looking for the ideal prey. Maybe one of those numerous migratory birds like different types of goose or this famous great cormorant flying over the horizon on the direction to the north.

The head full of memories and after have been refilled with pure air, we’ll return to Stockholm to come back to the joy of the civilisation.

Additional Information

Total escape from the city

Just a 45-minute journey from Stockholm can transport you, along with your family, your significant other, or a group of friends, to a serene haven for a day!

The Stockholm archipelago presents an idyllic and calming refuge due to its distinctive landscape that paints its unique identity. This archipelago consists of around 30,000 islands nestled in the peaceful waters of the Baltic sea. Originally, these were resting spots for farmers and fishermen, or trading outposts during the Viking era. The islands, often unoccupied, are clusters of rocks and trees, appearing as domes rising above the water surface, contributing to the region’s one-of-a-kind character.

Embodying an essential disconnect from urban life and everything else, this natural labyrinth offers a refreshing contrast for anyone choosing to visit Sweden for an extended weekend or a few days, for example. Embark on an adventure that will provide an alternate perspective of Sweden.

A breath of fresh air - We were 4 brothers who came from Belgium for this superb experience. The guide was friendly, educational and methodical. A real enthusiast with a great deal of experience in the field of adventure and bushcraft. The equipment was also of very high quality. The only downside is the size of the interior of the canoe, which doesn't allow the driver (who sits in the back with pedals for the rudder) to keep his shoes on when they're over 42. And we're warned when we get on board, so for those of you who are a little sensitive, please bear this in mind ! The barbecue and the water in the Stockholm archipelago were excellent (even in October).

Great City Escape - A great day out with Daniel as our guide. Weather was on our side too so we were able to enjoy the day without it feeling like too much of a work-out! Would highly recommend this tour if you want to escape the city.

Experience of a lifetime. - They equipped us perfectly for a much more adventurous version of kayaking than our usual. Oscar and Marlene (sp?) were both great in staying with us as the younger co-travelers pushed harder on ahead.

Wonderful experience! - This was a great experience! It started out cloudy, but the sun came out when we were having lunch on the island. We picked blueberries and lingonberries after lunch. Our guide Daniel was quite a character and an excellent guide. Being inexperienced at kayaking (our second time), my husband and I struggled with the rudder system of steering the kayak, but managed to make it work. All in all, it was a wonderful day!

The best experience - Our guide was really nice! He made sure that we had and understood everything. We went on a small island and had a pleasant lunch together. On our way back we even saw a seal!! Overall, I have nothing bad to say. If you like water and kayaks, then this trip is totally worthy❤️

A peaceful escape just outside the city - Kayaking around the stunning archipelago and having a tasty lunch (cooked over a fire by the guide) on one of the islands was definitely the highlight of my trip to Stockholm. (Though I advise bringing some mosquito repellent!) Recommended for anyone with a love of nature who wants a break from the tourist chaos of Gamla Stan.
