A Romantic Escape Begins

As a relationship therapist and travel enthusiast, I am always on the lookout for experiences that can bring couples closer together. When I heard about the Design Your Own Door County Tour, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to explore the romantic side of Sturgeon Bay with my husband. The idea of crafting our own adventure, tailored to our tastes, was irresistible. Our day began with a gentle breeze and the promise of a sunlit adventure. The tour bus, driven by the charming and knowledgeable Dave, was our chariot for the day. Our first stop was the enchanting Harbor Ridge Winery. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the winery offered a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We indulged in a wine tasting session, savoring the rich flavors and aromas that danced on our palates. As we moved on to Simon Creek Vineyard & Winery, the country setting enveloped us in its rustic charm. We strolled hand in hand through the vineyard, the sun casting a warm glow on the rows of grapevines. It was a moment of pure connection, where time seemed to stand still, and the world faded away, leaving just the two of us.

Sunset and Sweet Memories

The final leg of our tour took us to the Door Peninsula Winery, where we were greeted with the largest selection of wines in the county. The free tasting was a delightful experience, allowing us to discover new favorites and share our thoughts on each sip. As the sun began to set, we found ourselves at Door 44 Winery, where the locally grown grapes told a story of passion and dedication.

With the sky painted in hues of orange and pink, we sat together, reflecting on the day’s adventures. The tour had not only introduced us to the exquisite wines of Door County but had also given us the gift of time spent together, away from the distractions of daily life.
