Sumo Experience - This was a fun and informative experience that I'd definitely recommend! The guides and retired sumo wrestlers were extremely friendly, fun, and made this an enjoyable time! Informative about their culture and the history of sumo, while paired with some fun interactive experiences that started our trip off on the right foot! Others in the group were headed to the sumo wrestling tournament after, and I'm sure their new found knowledge would help!
Helpful tip - the meeting place is under the train bridge at the sumo restaurant

Fun morning with Sumo - We had a great time at the VIP Sumo event. We learned a great deal and the videos of my son and I each wrestling with a Sumo wrestler will make my family laugh for years! We were lucky enough to be there during a tournament and went on to use our newfound knowledge to enjoy the sport, but I would recommend doing the VIP tour either way as it was a good way to learn and it was hilarious. The wrestlers they chose to teach us were kind, good spirited and very funny guys.

Great to do with or without going to the sumo tournament - A really great experience. We had tickets to the sumo tournament later that day, so the explanations of the rules and tactics turned out to be helpful. And the "in the ring" experience is not to be missed. The wrestlers were great, and even went easy on the one guy (NOT in our party, but in the same session) who got a little too into it and ripped off his shirt when he jumped in the ring.
Thanks again!

Our greatly enjoyed our VIP Sumo Event and would highly recommend it. - The VIP Sumo Event was well worth attending. Instructions about what to wear, where to go, what to do etc were very clear and concise, and we enjoyed every minute of the experience. We would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Japan with an interest in sumo.

Very fun sumo experience - Very fun. Learned about sumo wrestling and got to “participate” in a short round with an actual sumo wrestler. Loved the experience

Very fun and informative ! Great for a group of friends. - Went with a group of friends after graduating college. The format is amazing. They teach history, techniques, and then you get a chance to get in the ring and ask questions also at the end.

Fantastic experience! - Just wanted to thank you all for a completely flawless and smooth experience. We are so happy and had such a great time at Sumo. We will recommend you to everyone. We are sorry for those who claim they’ve had a negative experience with this company. The directions are very easy if you have access to good maps - and all the hotels have good wifi so you can take a screen shot of the location if you don’t have an internet connection, like we did. Also, you can’t expect everyone to have fluent English- you are visiting their country after all, and they try their absolute best. We love Japan and will continue to return every time. Give this tour a go and just enjoy it for what it is - a fun, educational experience and a truly cultural enjoyable memory. And if you want to see sumo - pay for the tickets to the actual event - it’s unforgettable!!

Cringe and embarrassing - If you actually are interested in sumo, I cannot recommend this experience. Every one have to make a living but I felt sorry for the wrestlers who were involve in this. It is sad that they reduce this ancient martial art to "fat suits".
I would love to know what is VIP about the tour, I didn't experience any VIP treatment neither. Please tell me what is VIP? If you are a tourist who comes to Japan to go to robot cafe and ride mario cart round Akihabara, maybe you love this kind of thing. Everyone else who has some level of RESPECT for the culture can pass on this one.
I actually feel so bad that someone might come to Japan and think this is a real representation of the sumo art and culture. Borderline insult.
Other people can love it and give 5 star ranking but this is MY OPINION and I don't like it at all.
