Outstanding sumo wrestling tour - Akimi Matsuki was a wonderful tour guide—she gave us a lot of history and context of sumo wrestling and explained the rules of the match very clearly. What a memorable afternoon! Would highly recommend.

Excellent cultural experience! - Very much recommend the grand sumo tour! The tournament was so interesting and fun. We weren't able to get tickets to it otherwise, very glad we attended via the tour. Was the last day of our trip and we couldn't have wrapped it up in a better way. Ken-san was a great guide! The weather was very hot and humid, so we were a little apprehensive about doing the walking tour before the tournament, but he kept the walking light with plenty of shade. Good to get his local perspective on Japanese sports.

September tournament with Ken - Fun time at the Sumo tournament. Our guide Ken was great. Ken was very informative and he had a true passion for sumo. He gave us a guided tour of the grounds around the stadium and we were able to see the sumo stables, the wrestlers shrine, and we learned all about the history of the sport. The stadium was packed with enthusiastic fans cheering for their favorite wrestlers. Before entering the stadium we received our own cheer towels for one of the more popular sumo wrestlers named Onosato. It was definitely a fun experience with all the local fans. I would definitely recommend the tour if you’re in town during a tournament.

Great event and tour guide. Needs updates to audio equipment to complete the experience. - The Sumo event was everything we hoped for. Plenty of matches and beutiful ceremonies. Not too crowded and the amenities were adequate. Our guide, Aki, was really great and provided lots of commentary and was very helpful. Only issue was that the radio system equipment for the tour's communication was pretty bad with poor audio quality and constant disruption. The meal afterwards was more than enough and the restaurant was very authentically pleasant.

Go yourself instead - The Sumo was obviously fantastic, but the tour guide was very quiet and only offered tidbits when prompted (I had to ask a lot of questions). The other disappointing factor was the ludicrous markup. $300 AUD for a ~$50 AUD ticket and a tour guide that didn’t say much- go yourself instead.
