Hard hike, professional tour management - Both the contact person and the driver were professionals. We were well informed about the trip and the weather as well

Must Do Experience! - When planning our trip to Madeira we knew we wanted to hike from Pico Ruivo to Pico do Arieiro (the hike in the clouds). I have to say this was a once in a lifetime experience and I would highly recommend Do It Madeira. They provide transport from hotel to start of hike and pick up from the end of the hike back to your hotel in a comfy, air conditioned van. Our driver Nuno was a spotlight on the trip. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. Made us feel very comfortable about what to expect during the whole process. The hike itself was incredible! The sunrise option is a must do if you want to do this hike. The views are like nothing I’ve ever seen. My husband and I are in our 30s and semi-athletic. We completed the hike with an hour to spare, where we enjoyed a beverage and a treat at the restaurant at the end of the hike before pickup. I will say that there are some very difficult inclines so be sure to wear sturdy shoes and rest along the way. If you are thinking about doing this hike I would say you must 1- go for the experience! And 2- use Do It Madeira!

Beautiful sunrise, friendly driver, some steep stairs - Our trip began at 5:30 by being picked up by a very friendly driver Nuno in front of our hotel. Before the hike itself, he made sure that we understand the trail, the maps and he showed us the best place to watch the beautiful - since the weather was on our side - sunrise from. Don't forget to bring enough warm clothes, because the weather in the morning is really cold. The hike itself was enjoyable with amazing views and beautiful tunnels, however some parts were really steep - as it told to us by the trip organizer before - so do not bring smaller children or eldery people, since some intermediate fitness level is required. The driver Nuno also showed us the local traditional houses and stopped to provider us some astonishing views on the ocean on the way back. Maps and info were provided the day before by the trip organizer Logan, which I found very useful for planning what should we be prepared to.

Mind blowing views - This was an amazing hike! We had an initial communication problem when booking regarding pick up but we sorted this and we were sent a link where to meet which was perfect and timely. The driver was excellent in terms of timekeeping, information and conversation with passengers. He even took us to a viewpoint on the way back for us to take photos. Despite the original miscommunication, I was very impressed how slick this trip was. It you are fit and not bothered by crowds - do it! It’s no way easy - my legs really felt it the next day but it’s absolutely stunning! Enjoy!

Don't drive your hire car up there or get stung by a Taxi at the end - choose this tour instead! - 100% worth taking this tour. The timings were perfect to see the sunrise and allowed enough time at the end for the obligatory 2 x Ponchas and Passionfruit Cheesecake. Felipe was an excellent and attentive guide - very knowledgeable about the island and the route. Logan provided informative instructions via WhatsApp prior to the trip. Don't drive your hire car up there or get stung by a Taxi at the end - choose this tour instead.

A great sunrise hike! - Great contact with the company. Straightforward hotel pick up and drop off. Information provided the day before doing the sunrise walk. Great driver Ivan gave us lots of information whilst taking us to start of the hike and went over the route when we arrived. Fabulous hike - breathtaking views. Hard walk at times - particularly up the metal stairs. So pleased we did it and pleased we chose the sunrise walk given how hot it was when we were finishing! Lovely cafe at the very end to have a celebratory drink and snack- and use the facilities! Our pick up was at 5.20am and we were back at the hotel by about 1pm. A superb morning!

Took the Stress Away from Not Having a Car - Well Organised - Highly recommend booking this if you wish to do the Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo hike with transfers. The pick-up and drop off went smoothly, pick-up details and hike information were advised the day before (great communication from Logan, she also checked-in during). Luis was our driver, he was friendly and funny and reiterated important information regarding the trail and on the way back stopped at a view point for us to enjoy. The hike itself was challenging at times (non-hiker), but very beautiful and worth it! 5 hours was enough time (more, if you want to start the hike without waiting for the sunset at the starting point), and Luis let us know the timing of certain points to the end just in case you're worried about time (which I was). Very organised and took the stress away from not having a car (and not having to drive after a solid hike).

Would recommend this tour if you want to go at your own pace! - Well planned, easy to follow instruction. Good tour guide/drive Felipe. Would recommend this tour if you want to go at your own pace. Wish we had a bit more time to enjoy the views and have a longer break. Path gets busy with lots of walkers so can slow down! Last 1km to the peak is tough so leave enough time for it and regular stops - from the very average walker!
