Private driver and tour guide in Iceland - If you are visiting Iceland and looking for an amazing experience with a driver that is not just a driver but a guide You have found it. Best Way to Experience Iceland, Especially in Winter - So for our honeymoon, my wife and I decided to come out to Iceland for the winter, in hopes that we might see the Northern Lights. We stayed in Reykjavik the first few days, and slowly everything was getting cancelled due to the crazy blizzards and weather. When we were ready to go drive down to Vik, Kristjan picked us up in his truck and single handedly saved the entire trip.
He was very friendly, incredibly knowledgeable about the history of everything with Iceland and knew all the best spots to see. Importantly, he was extremely safe on the treacherous roads, and highly experienced with any of the weather and conditions that faced us. More importantly, he had made our desire come try by helping us see the Northern Lights. I am now convinced that the Northern Lights are not based on luck, but perseverance of the cold weather, and patience for breaking in the cloud cover, as one night Kristjan casually remarked, "I think we will get the lights tonight" and he was right.
Do yourself a favor, and do not bother with renting a car, you will likely get trapped on the side of the road, while someone else is having an amazing experience with Mountain Taxi. 30 years of experience will make a huge difference, even if you have him booked for just 3 hours.

Incredible Experience - The South Coast Tour with Yonni was amazing! He took us everywhere we wanted to go plus hidden gems we didn’t know about and we arrived back at our hotel at the exact time we requested. Thank you Yonni!

Amazing - more than 5 stars. - Amazing must do experience when in Iceland. We had a fantastic trip over 2 different days with Kristian. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgable and a very safe driver in a huge truck in snowy conditions. He adapted our tour as we went along making the most of our time and adjusting to weather conditions. We would Highly Recommend.

Wow, just wow! - Omar was an amazing guide and driver. He was so welcoming and knowledgable, there is no better guide. He fit so much into our tour. It was the best day of our entire vacation. Thanks so much for the memories!

Worth the money - although it is expensive, the super vehicle can go anywhere. nothing is near by in Iceland, you have to travel everywhere. having an experienced native is way bettter than renting a car and trying to figure out where to go!

What an amazing experience! - My husband and I had a great day with Omar visiting the ice caves in the glacier, the geyser and the gulfoss waterfalls. We wanted to fit everything into one day and Mountain Taxi were so accommodating, responsive and easy to deal with. We saw so many cars that had skidded off the road (locals and tourists) so knew we had made the right decision having a professional drive us. We also thoroughly enjoyed Omar’s company.
