Highlights

Tbilisi - Kutaisi

Surami - At 09:00, meet your driver-guide in the reception area of your Tbilisi hotel and begin your journey towards western Georgia. As you drive along the main highway, you’ll pass through several villages, mountains, and scenic viewpoints.

After two hours of driving, you’ll arrive at a small village called Surami.

When Surami is mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind for Georgians is a sweet cinnamon bread called Nazuki and a famous fortress located in the village.

Nazuki bread is exclusively baked in this village, and we will stop at one of the best bakeries to show you how it’s made. You’ll also have the opportunity to taste as much as you like.

Bagrati Cathedral - Upon reaching Kutaisi, the former capital of Georgia, we will start our exploration with Bagrati Cathedral, one of the most iconic places to visit in Georgia.

The cathedral offers a panoramic view of the entire town and its historic quarter.

Kutaisi - We will check in at a hotel in Kutaisi and, after some rest, begin a walking tour of the old part of the city.

Landmarks such as the Colchis Fountain, opera house, 100-year-old theatre, synagogue, central park, white bridge, and Soviet-era cable cars are part of what Kutaisi has to offer.

Each site has its own history, and having a private guide allows you to explore unique and unmissable attractions at your destination.

Caves - Canyons - Tbilisi

Martvili Canyon - On this day, we will check out from the Kutaisi hotel and continue exploring other parts of western Georgia. After an hour of driving, we will reach the Samegrelo region, which is more mountainous and offers various outdoor activities.

We will visit one of the country’s most popular landmarks, Martvili Canyon, a cool oasis of slender, mossy trees that cling to the low walls of the canyon. The deep teal waters flowing through the rippled cliffs have made this place a major tourist attraction.

A short paved path leads you through the area, with a series of small, arched bridges that crisscross the river and lead to viewing areas for the cascades. An optional 10-minute boat trip will take you a short way further up the river to another waterfall.

The walking track is about 500 meters and can be completed in under 30 minutes. The rock platform around the boat departure point offers lovely views, but it is off-limits to make the boat trip more enticing.

Prometheus Cave - Prometheus Cave is often considered the calling card of Georgia. This magical cave is filled with stunning curtains of stalactites and stalagmites, convincing you of the existence of a fairy-tale world.

You can walk through 1,420 meters of the cave’s territory, visit the halls, and enjoy a boat tour along the river. Discover the real masterpieces of nature—stalactites and stalagmites—at Prometheus Cave, which are some of the most beautiful natural formations.

Rikoti Pass - After exploring two of the most visited and adventurous landmarks in the country, we will start our drive back to Tbilisi. The estimated arrival time in Tbilisi is 18:30.

If travelers wish to continue their journey further west towards Batumi or Mestia, the tour can be customized based on individual plans.

11 regions - Giga 10/10 - It's my 2nd time in Georgia and also my 2nd time with Giga as my guide. He provided me and my girlfriend our itinerary for 8 days and this Kutaisi trip was one to remember. We also went to Mestia for our snow experience and it was something special. Would definitely recommend and vouch 11 regions. As usual, above my expectations and totally satisfied our vacation.

Trip to Kutaisi region. - Our second trip across Georgia with Giga's "11 Regions" company. Temo was our guide for the second time. Visiting Stalin's museum, Uplistsikhe caves, Kutaisi region. This trip was even better than the first one. Many sights to see - all of them amazing. Temo was giving full information about the places. Very helpful and responsive to our wishes. He picked the correct timing to avoid crowds as much as possible. Selected good restaurants for lunch and dinner. The food in Kutaisi region is amazing. You have to try .... well everything. Overall i am very pleased with the service Giga's 11 Regions company provided to me and my family.

Amazing river and falls - This tour was really good as well, i like most is the rafting, beautiful views while rafting and also the falls. It’s so refreshing. Also, thanks to Giga, who always recommend the best restaurant in town during our tour. Everything is so good! I will never forget when we had lunch next to the river, while waiting to our food, we had chance to dip our feet on the river and just enjoy it like a children. We had fun.

Breathtaking Kutaisi - This is the last tour in our trip but definitely not the least! My 7-year old son who is a World War enthusiast enjoyed the Stalin Museum and was fully engaged with the museum guide. Then our jaws literally dropped at the sight of Uplistikhe the rock-hewn city, Martvili canyon, Okatse canyon, Kinchkha waterfall, and the Prometheus caves!!! We can’t stop praising & worshipping GOD for His beautiful & magnificent creation! How mighty is His works! I think Georgia is underrated and deserves much more recognition! We love everything about Georgia - from its beautiful & friendly people, to its stunning nature, architecture & history, delectable food, not to mention very affordable! Lord willing we will come back again as our trip was cut short due to spike in COVID cases, hopefully this coming winter, and will definitely get Giga again to guide us! He went over & beyond guiding and become our friend instantly!
