- Wat Mahathat - One of the most fascinating historical sites in the country, known for its famous Buddhist Temple, Wat Mahathat.
Wat Mahathat, built in the 13th Century, is one of the oldest and most significant temples in Ayutthaya’s history as it housed the Buddha’s holy relic.
- Wat Chaiwatthanaram - Wat Chaiwatthanaram is one of the most iconic and well-preserved temples in Ayutthaya, renowned for its impressive Khmer-style architecture and scenic riverside location. It’s a popular spot for late afternoon and sunset visits. Many locals dressed in traditional clothing pray in the evening, adding to the charm. Watch for bats inside the buildings as they leave their resting places at sunset. One of the stupas is currently being restored, but it doesn’t affect the sunset view.
- Wat Yai Chai Mang Khon - Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon is one of the most important temples in Ayutthaya, with a long and illustrious history. Unlike many other ancient sites in Ayutthaya, this is still an active temple where monks reside. Thai people visit Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon to pay respects to Buddha and to honor one of the most respected kings in Thai history, King Naresuan the Great.
- Wat Phra Sri Sanphet - The distinctive pagodas of Wat Phra Si Sanphet are among the most famous sights in Ayutthaya. Similar to the iconic Buddha head in tree roots at nearby Wat Phra Mahathat, images of this historic temple are featured on many postcards and travel books sold in Ayutthaya.
- Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Lokayasutharam) - Although Wat Lokaya Sutha (also known as Wat Lokayasutharam) is not one of the most famous historic sites in Ayutthaya, it remains an impressive location to visit, thanks to its giant reclining Buddha image. At 42 meters long and 8 meters high, the statue towers over the devotees who come here to make offerings.
- Ayothaya Floating Market & Elephant Village - At the Floating Market Ayutthaya, you’ll enjoy a unique shopping experience (note: boat ride fees are not included).
After exploring, we’ll treat you to a delicious Thai lunch.
Ayothaya Floating Market serves as a tourism hub for both domestic and international visitors to enjoy the pleasant environment and beautiful scenery in a Thai style. While exploring the market, tourists can savor delicious food or shop for souvenirs at various stores scattered around the market.
Ayothaya Floating Market was established to serve as both a tourist destination and an educational institution for preserving Thai arts and culture. It retains all aspects of an Ayutthayan floating market of the past, including traditional costumes, stunning architecture, unique culture and traditions, authentic amusements, folk performances, and the simple lifestyle of the Thai people.
- Wat Chaiwatthanaram - After your visit, we’ll head to the Wat Chaiwatthanaram pier for a scenic sunset boat ride. Experience Ayutthaya’s unique beauty at sunset.
- Bangkok - As the tour concludes, we’ll take you back to your hotel in Ayutthaya or Bangkok.
