Its distinguishing feature is the high prang (tower) dominating the area. The temple is old and was built in the second half of the 14th century during the reign of King U Thong. Interestingly, it is still active and monks live in it. The current name of the monastery was acquired at the end of the 16th century, when a large chedi was built. In the northeast, you can see a large statue of the Reclining Buddha wrapped in yellow cloth, facing east towards the rising sun. Very enjoyable excursion with a knowledgeable guide, Johnny, who has a great sense of humor. - Johnny was very professional, answering all our questions, providing much history of the Ayutthaya city. The schedule worked well. The boat ride to the last temple was fun. The second boat scheduled was not available, but a replacement was quickly found, such that no time was lost.

Fun guide and informative!! - Our guide, Jom had great energy, the occasional salacious joke, and kept the group inclusive - he would wait for us to congregate before explaining about certain spots. He also kept everything going with a smile! Truly energetic and a wonderful trip to see temples you wouldn’t normally see in Bangkok. Would recommend to others seeking a getaway from the city life!

Gaito is wonderful! Recommended for those who want to get around Ayutthaya efficiently - The guide's older brother was very kind and I felt relieved just seeing his smiling face. Thai people's smiles are really nice. I was able to visit the main tourist spots in Ayutthaya at a good pace. It was a 45 minute boat ride, but looking at the restaurants and shops along the river reminded me of the way people lived in Ayutthaya in the past. Although the tour is in English, I think you can enjoy it as long as you have basic English skills.

Great tour - This was a great tour with a friendly and helpful guide. The temples were beautiful and boat ride a fun way to cool off a little, arriving at the final temple just as the sun was setting.

Overall great trip! - Bus was air conditioned and comfortable. The temple ruins were absolutely beautiful. The river cruise portion was enjoyable, nice to get a break from the sun, enjoy the breeze, and feed some fish. Dinner was included, even though the description says otherwise... I was a little irritated at this, only because the meal was previously decided... not a select menu, and that my husband and I had a late, and heavy lunch, as we were anticipating not eating until after our tour. Good thing we didn't have dinner reservations elsewhere! Our tour guide Johnny was great! He was informational and also funny. $116 and change, for 2 adults, definitely worth the money!

Worth doing - A big air-conditioned bus, every seat filled, took us from a central meeting place. The tour felt a bit rushed, but the guide was good and knew his stuff. It was worth it to see Ayutthaya! The river ride was scenic and they gave us bread to feed the fish.

A nice visit but our guide wasn't great - The places visited are interesting but our guide did not impress us. She was very kind and smiling but she didn't give us much information. His level of French was really not very good. We generally had a pleasant time and the boat trip at the end of the day was perfect!

Temples, Temples and Temples…oh my! - Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The temples were amazing! If you want to climb the steep stairs to the top of one, be prepared. Stairs are steep, but this 60 yo woman made it with no difficulty. We were served a small portion of Pad Thai for dinner which I would consider only average. The views from the river as the sun set behind some of the temples were beautiful. Great photos were captured! I would recommend this tour if you want to see ancient temples dating back hundreds of years. Susan, our guide, was excellent!

Slightly misleading and rushed tour - Not the best of trips if I’m to be honest but you need to make your own minds up, however not one id recommend, expensive for not a lot… Definately no food, as others have suggested, and you definately do not see what’s showing on the picture, we looked hard to find at the end of the trip. Somewhat misleading and the whole trip felt a bit rushed. From start to finish done in 6 hrs and not the 7 as stated..
