Additional Information

Escape the tourist crowds and immerse yourself in the tranquillity of Buddhist culture. Begin your journey at 5:00 am from your hotel to Wat Phratat Doi Suthep, ChiangMai’s famed landmark situated at a height of 3,500 feet. Experience the calmness the temple exudes when the monks start their day with chants and go off for alms collection. Savour the serenity as you watch the golden morning light envelope the city of Chiangmai without a loud crowd. Participate in the sacred ritual of monks offering alms at the Kruba Sriwichai monument.

Upon sunrise, head over to Wat Jed Yod, yet another major temple that remains largely untouched by heavy tourist traffic. The temple, named ‘seven peaks’, is characterized by the seven chedis found on one of its buildings - a unique feature amongst Thai temples. Constructed in the fifteenth century, this temple was once the host to the Eighth World Buddhist Council.

Enjoy a local noodle soup breakfast from charm-filled, non-touristy eatery. Dive into educational and cultural enchantment at the Elephant Poopoo Paper-park, and immerse in the breathtaking beauty of the Orchid and Butterfly farm. Return to your hotel around 11 am.

Joe is great! - We weren’t able to go on our tour due to COVID19 immigration policies meaning we had to return home early, but Joe was extremely helpful and replied promptly to all of my issues- I’d recommend him to anyone booking a tour in future as I had a really positive experience- thanks Joe!

Joe Rocks - We booked the tour thinking it was a group tour. What a wonderful surprise to find that it was just Joe and us. He took us in his comfortable mini van to the various destinations with great narrative in good English. We had many random questions about Thailand, Chiang Mai, the culture, the people, and life here. It was great having a personal guide to get those questions answered and to learn the many the other things we didn't think to ask that Joe had to offer. He was also gratious enough to drop us off at another of our destinations instead of back at the hotel. Don't hesitate to book this trip and oh yeah, bring a sweater. It was 53F in the AM.
